ok great

reform have ideas for returning migrants and stopping people on benefits taking the piss

next

what they doing regards taxing big corporations so they pay their fair share

Hopefully reducing them to prompt growth and hundreds of thousands of well paid jobs. The funds then flood in through income tax and other streams.

Not the way socialists think of course. Can't have the likes of Jeff Bezos owning big Premier League football clubs now can we?

I know but they MUST have a plan for raising money to pay for all this, via taxes or otherwise

and addressing wealth inequality which is just as big if not a bigger issue this country faces moving forward

people Vs the establishment and all that

I said this somewhere else the other day, is there any point in any party saying what their plans will cost? We all know they never stick to what they say, it’s not just our country either

They shouldn't pay pensioners a similar wage because they aren't working? Of course they're not working because they have done their 50 years of work

Exactly

A wage is compensation for work, a pension is not

They gave a figure they would save. A simple explanation of how they got to that figure is not being pedantic only someone totally blinkered to the shortcomings of Reform would pretend otherwise.

No one is asking for an exact figure as you well know but just to the nearest 100k or even million would be a start.

50 billion. Probably slightly high but it's an estimate.

Marx, Engels or Lenin? It was one of those cunts.

Snatch it from those who have been smart enough to amass it and distribute it to the peasants.

Natural progression then leads to everyone having the same breeze block apartment and shitty little car with a motorcycle engine.

Jeremy Corbyn would have a trouser accident at the very thought.

An estimate is based on actual numbers. £50bn is just a made up number. If you are happy with that fair enough but do not pretend it is real.

I wouldn't pretend that any number put out by any political party is 'real'.

They are all made up numbers. The unavoidable truth is that the savings would be enormous.

Paying your fair share  of corporation tax, rather than routing your UK income through places like Luxembourg , doesn't stop a multi-billionaire from creating jobs or buying a football club.

It does means the public services his minimum wage workers use aren't left for ordinary taxpayers to subsidise.

either way, he'll get by

So, we should give them another wage on top of their ridiculously triple-lock protected pension?

Do you think £12750 a year is plenty to live on?

the fact that people working for the likes of Amazon receive UC is an absolute scandal

far from it

do you think paying £1600 a month (20k a year, ffs...and I'm being conservative) for mortgage and child care makes NMW plenty to live on

id say a pensioner on 12k has more free cash than a youngish couple

Pensioners have probably done exactly the same as today's young 'uns and paid a mortgage etc over 25-30 years, if someone has worked for 50 years and 'paid in' I would say they are entitled to have a bit of spare cash, although a lot don't have that luxury for whatever reason.

If they are paying 'idlers' the minimum wage for 20 hours per week then pensioners who have worked and paid in all of their lives should also be paid a similar amount for services rendered

What service rendered?

Sitting on their arse watching GB news and getting in the way at supermarkets isn’t a service

They absolutely haven't, house prices are utterly ridiculous these days.

Factor in the WFA and you more or less already have what you're asking for anyway

And if as you're claiming, pensioners have already paid off their mortgage then that's plenty of spare cash available

Working and paying tax and N.I. for 50 years

Are you Cheese in disguise, never watch daytime telly, and I have never watched GB news, too busy on my hobbies, most pensioners shop through the day to make way for workers in the evenings/weekends

You'll be old one day

My first mortgage was £7000, I was earning £30 a week

There won’t be a pension when ‘they’ get old. Not sure why though.

I'm sure it is

But given your mortgage is paid off, I don't know why you need the taxpayer to give you even more spending money

I save it to help my kids and grandkids, why should I be hard up because I have worked my bollocks off to get everything paid off then enjoy the fruits of my labour. I had 2 jobs for over 8 years which helped
