Sir Kier Starmer has personally called FIFA to get Quansah’s red card overturned from last night. As a result England now have 3 players suspended for the next match.

Only one suspended.

James expected to be available too.

won our first ever World Cup game, a proud day for me after enduring the dark ages of Canadian men's football during the 90s and 2000s. Easily the best team we have ever fielded.

Seems like the USA have inadvertently woken Belgium up ha. An outcome most can get behind.

I think that might be a whoosh

France have now appealed Olise's yellow card against Paraguay

Oh dear

Ah well- I misread it!

James is still likely available though, so not too desperate.

Croatia appealed their disallowed goal as well

Shit show

Spain v Portugal is a total snooze fest as expected. Commentators losing focus at times. I swear I have witnessed this exact same display bet these teams on multiple occasions.

Was a class ball for Spain's goal to Merino from Ferran, they don't concede, but maybe that will happen vs France in potential semi, they're not at the level they were 2 years ago, but so hard to beat

wow Bernardo almost level right at the death.

Wonder where Martinez fails at next.

Id been looking forward to that game all day and it turned out to be utter shite

Think we were spoilt in the early hours

Talking of which, I've had 4 hours sleep, off to bed

I expected it to be a chess game and so it was., I expected Spain to win and so they did.

Total and utter contrast to that brilliant game in the Azteca.

Spain do not concede. Great attacks win football matches. Great defences win championships.

Apparently Belgium considering appealing to the Court of the Arbitration of Sport if the US play Balogun tonight, as they would consider him an illegible player. Let’s hope they do and fully expose Infantino/FIFAs corruption.

Better still let’s hope Belgium thump the US.

Who is Brazil's manager again!

Not sure any manager would do significantly better with Portugal now- they're not the team they were a few years back.

They might have more of a chance if the Ronaldo circus has finally moved on

Quite possibly so.

Unlike the Argies, who still use Messi and play well, Portugal just seem to have dropped off from where they were.

Can all parties resist the pull of a (partly) home world cup in 4 years?

You're not an orphan.

Why do they use 47 words when one will suffice?

Still have some great players mind. Vitinha, the lad who went off injured, the striker they should have brought on, the keeper. CR7 has become a mill stone around their necks.
