Now VAR has taken away the most beautiful aspect of football. With no evidence of it making it fairer & erasing human error. Still the controversy continues… in many ways worse than ever.

We don’t need 3 extra officials antagonising over 19 angles in slow fucking motion & going back to the other end of the pitch.

We need two linesmen & a ref & an acceptance that mistakes well sometimes happen.

National football bodies & fans need to stop whining & turn to action. Boycott the World Cup. Set up an alternative tournament. Fans need to boycott games in the UK until VAR is scrapped.

Not of this will happen & the game will only get worse. So many games at this WC ruined by VAR & more controversy.

On a complete side note. Egypt completely fucked it for themselves. Salah should have been keeping the ball, not looking for a non penalty. Poor game management from them at 2 up.

I agree . Nobody wanted this . When the screams went out for camera assisted decisions it was after the Frank Lampard disallowed goal . We only wanted goal line technology . Keep the rest as it is , leave it up to the Ref and itll even itself out .

The only time I wobbled on changing my mind was during the Russia World cup when I thought VAR worked pretty much perfectly .

I do recall one or two incidents where VAR was very lenient towards Russia

Bit disappointed in Morocco. Never laid a glove on France.

Only one team looking to win the game. The other looked like it was looking for a 50-50 chance in a penalty shootut out from the first minute.

It can take France 60 minutes to make a mark in some games. They're not immortal at the back. Hopefully they are tested soon.

They are still the stand out favourites for me though

They hadnt looked like conceding till last night but Belgium caused them a few issues and I wasn't overly impressed by Simon in Spain's goal, one or two uncertain moments

I've had nothing but criticism for refereeing and VAR this tournament - but Embolo got everything he deserved. Rolling around like he'd been shot, great to see that finally being punished. Huge shame as they looked like taking Argentina by that point. Can't believe his manager defended him.

We have to start beating the big guns now. Bring it on. Tuchel's right, we need to be better.
