I don't think they've got the ground for it

problem is, all the biggest / best grounds are for rugby, Aussie rules and cricket

they'd have to pause those seasons to accommodate a world cup

hope they do, weather would be perfect for it

I've looked at one of their old proposed bids on Wikipedia and thought it all looked great - but hadn't factored in pausing others sport's seasons. Probably means its not going to happen. Shame.

Did fantastic jobs with the Olympics and the RWC. They are however chicken shit compared to the big one. Would be ace though. Every fucker wants to come to Australia.

Spent the day with a number of different nationalities down here today. Without exception, they are all craving a Norway victory today. Understandable with the Scandies of course. Two couples just been round to organise a catch up at a flash bar near Marbella on Thursday. One couple French/Moroccan, one couple Dutch/Moroccan. Backing Norway tonight, anybody to win the WC except England and Argentina (the latter because they believe there to be political interference on behalf of Argentina by FIFA). Spanish definitely want us out. The Spanish see us as a threat, the rest say 'bloody English think they invented the game' (I thought we did! Suppose there's an argument that we only invented the rules - Kubla Khan had his lads kicking around fallen enemies heads for sport centuries before apparently).

No one likes us, we don't care. Come on England!
