You big girl.

Did a Gascoigne after being subbed.

Oh dear how the mighty have fallen.

Trashmere hahahahahaha

mcateer was completely different to gascoigne

could be the last game he'll play

he's concussed, and doesn't want to go off

i felt sorry for him =;

His uncle was concussed a few times but he just got back up and chinned the bastards.

He will be turning over in his grave

if he's dead

To be fair I no big gripe with Jason, apart from the haircare adverts.

He did well for us, he didn't disrespect the club indirectly as Stubbs did.

And in case you forget we got ??4.5m for him which with hindsight is unbelievable [we only got ??4m for Eudir who now looks what ??20m]

And me, no problem with the way he left or the fact that he left for the team he supported as a kid. The day he left he went back onto the pitch at Burnden for one last look round and cried his eyes out.

Remember how you felt when you saw a Bolton player nutmegging Maldini in the World Cup?

McAteer was simply fantastic for us for those Rioch years, I don't think I've seen anyone before or since with an engine like he had

Then again, he had a lot of running to do to make up for Tony Kelly!

Thing with Tony Kelly, he didn't see a need to run like a headless chicken when, by being on or near the centre spot, all his team knew exactly where he'd be and was able to hit any part of the pitch with little effort.

In theory!!!!!!!

Have no axe to grind with McAteer. For ??500 and a set of tracksuits, he did us proud. Played his heart out for us, made us a massive profit when his favourite team paid over the odds for him and didn't slag us off like Alan One-ball Stubbs did.

i'm going to use that as my excuse for not running when i play for the works team..

i think the reason why he was respected is that he didnt kick up the same fuss as stubbs did...

People who have left the club for pastures new fall into two brackets:

Those wanting to leave because they can earn more cash elsewhere

and

Those who have shown no wish to leave but due to financial constraints their sale eases the burden on the club.

Hand in hand with that are a couple of rules that go something like:

Bolton Wanderers Supporter Rule Number 116 (i)

If a player becomes too big for his boots and puts in a transfer request in order to play at a better club, then he shall be booed at every touch of the ball when playing Bolton in the future.

Players falling into this category: Stubbs, Fish, Ricketts, etc.

Bolton Wanderers Supporter Rule Number 116 (ii)

If a player becomes more beneficial to the club financially by being sold rather than carry on with the club then his attendance at Bolton games shall be applauded. This applause shall not be too exuberent but more a show of respect for a good ex-player.

Players falling into this category: Gudjonsen, Jensen, Thompson.

i thought blakey was sold by the club, as a opposed to the manager or requesting to leave?

aye, but he's never seemed to be remotely popular on his returns, despite us making nice money on him

which category are we having gunnlaugson and nathan blake in?

I'm not even sure what category McAteer is in and this is his thread!

Whilst he wanted a move for his own reasons; to play for his beloved Liverpool, I don't recall him saying he would also get potsfull of cash!

i reckon hometowe club players like mcateer and nolan maybe, you can forgive, especially when to club is much bigger than your current club and would probably triple you money!

Not many get a good round of applause from Undies when they return, infact i would say none do.

Was if Millwall at home were McAteer skipped past half a dozen of them to score a ding-dong-goal :-k
