Have you got your Barclays Premiership Card ready for your season ticket purchase Carlos?

No, however, I have a shed load of 1 and 2p's that will avoid the ??2 credit card charge. On a plus note, Wigan are charging ??4 :D

I paid on my credit card and didn't get charged a fee.

I renewed online if that matters.

If Jackburn can sign Bellamy, then we can buy Johnson.

The only difference is that as far as I know, Sam and AJ aren't quite as good 'friends' as Hughes and Bellamy

Is this another bit of news you're in the know about too? Have I missed something?

Nothing to report there. Just that it's well known that in a professional sense Hughes, Bellamy and Savage are very close from their time with the Welsh setup

no matter what fans think of johnson and his value, it certainly proves to me the club have some serious ambition, which can only be applauded from a fans perspective...

Agreed. I'm a bit unsure of the player and fee but you have to give the club credit.

Now that was a bite :D

Not been fishing for a while, forgot how easy it was.

On the Johnson transfer - I can't see him turning us down. We're an established PL club now, and we'll be chasing Europe again next season. If Jackburn can sign Bellamy, then we can buy Johnson.

Im not sure, depends what other CLubs are interested, he may hold out for a so called "bigger club"!

I think the "bigger clubs" would have shown their hand by now otherwise they are leaving it very late, as he could be impressed and signed up before they even move (He will meet up with Us & Wigan tomorrow).

I think he will sign for someone over the weekend to be honest (I still think Everton will meet the valuation as after going that far and spend that much time after someone ??1m is not that much).

I'd say it was an observation that Bellendamy and Hughes were Wales colleagues and as such knew each other well.

You know us girls....always on the look out for a bit of gossip. I thought happen there was a bit of boy on boy action I'd missed! Having said that, on the eyecandy front, I think I might just cover my eyes! :D

What the fooks going on,

8.5 foockin million pounds

I'm still not believing it

How can bolton moan about spendin 1,2million quid, then 18 months later offer 8.5 million fuckin quid.

If he does sign we can only guess that Phillip put the money aside from the last transfer budget hence Mr. Perez.

I still reckon we will see sam saying that andrew johnsons agent wanted to much. His wages were too expensive.

Johnsons agent must be rubbing his hands also!

Also, why are Bolton quiet on all this? We arn't usually, remember camera. Gartside got slated for opening his gob on that. Has he learnt his lesson or are Bolton not saying anything because its a publicity agreement to get the price up so fool the pieheads and get more season tickets sales!

tbh i'd swap any one of our squad to get johnson, so i'm not too worried

but surely somebody is on his way out

Everton are bigger, but no way are they a better team than us. Look at the squads/first choice team & only a tool would disagree - hope Johnson realises that too (if Everton do bid the same).

Who will impress more, Sam or Paul Jewell - no contest really. C'mon AJ :D/ :D/ :D/

Sartorially it's gotta be Sam...Jewell has got shit shoes, he is a shitty shoe bast*rd! FACT!

if everton match the 8.5, my gut feeling is johnson would go there, coz they are a bigger club like it or not...

but i dont think they will match it anyway.

spose now its down to the greed of the player, coz i reckon whelan will offer a nice signing on fee too to smooth the deal over...

do you honestly believe that a selling chairman and a buying chairman would have a "publicity" agreement in order to a) p??ss of the buying chairman's local rivals and B) help assist buying chairman's season ticket sales?

in case you didn't notice, we've just matched wigan's bid, not vice versa

Im guessing this will be spread out over many years . It will probably even itself out when you take into account jayjays wages have now ended, I doubt we will offer Andy johnson anywhere near ??30 grand a week. I did think the deal was dead as I presumed Wigan would paymost upfront therefore killing any future deal from us. So apparently not . :D/ :D/

So your telling me that Bolton don't release selected information to boost season ticket sales, Bolton do have a marketing team. The fact that the offical word from bolton is no comment stinks.

I won't believe it until Sam says something. Johnson won't be at bolton next season. If I was a betting man I would put next years subscripton to match magazine on it.

So happy with this news. Wanted the guy from the minute I found out we were interested. He's got to be Reebok bound now, having let Bruno and Jay Jay go thats surely ??50 grand a week freed up which could be used for Johnson, and I don't think Whelan (even though he's got the money) will offer more than that for his wages. So in my opinion it will be purely a choice of which club he prefers. And it's an easy decision, a club that is an established premiership team and will be challenging for Europe next season, or a team of pie-eaters that have been in the premiership one season, a lucky one at that, and are championship bound next season!

Johnson would be a hell of a signing, but do we not have bigger concerns?

With Bruno gone and Jaidi not particularly good we're looking shorthanded at centre back (Ben Haim, maybe Faye, and, er, Fojut?).

We've not been especially blessed at full back for a while now (Henrik and Hunt, for crying out loud?)

With Jay-Jay down the road and Hidi's future uncertain, we're not exactly flush in midfield either.

Sam's got work to do, and missing out on Johnson might not be so bad. Some previous targets might prove more useful to us in the long run, with Mikkel Forssell (unlikely to fancy the Championship), Olivier Dacourt (out of contract at Roma) and Massimo Oddo (wants away from Lazio) names that spring to mind.

I did hear myself that he would prefer Bolton rather than the Pieeatiing inbred banjo players

Like someone said above we are an established Premiership team now and Wigan have only done 1 season, yes they did well but next season could be a different story completely and could languish down the bottom half of the league

I wont believe this until I actually see Johnson wearing the White shirt of Bolton

I think this is great news. My view on this transfer has chopped and changed but I am firmly of the belief that it is a good thing, and I really hope we get him. This transfer would take this club to a genuinely different level. It would indicate to the football world that we are a club on the up, and thus reinforce our ambition and discourage richer clubs from trying to buy our players (we have been quite lucky so far that the richer clubs haven't bullied us the way in which Spurs have Wigan over Chimbonda, for example. Clubs would desire Jussi, Gardner, Nolan, and possibly Faye, Vaz Te, O'Brien in future). Also Sam's position as manager of our club for the long term will be reinforced, and other players will have a better image of BWFC and would thus be likely to sign for us over other mid table Premiership clubs.

I think we might pull this signing off. Johnson probably doesn't see Bolton as an attractive club to join as his image of us from his younger years is that of a mediocre team playing in a delapidated stadium. It will be up to Sam and PG to sell the club to him, but they have used the stadium and facilities, coaching staff (Sammy Lee must help with his England connections) together with an attractive wage package and good after sales care (i.e. backroom staff) to sell the club in the past, and I think they can again.

Just had a chat with Dowie and he said Johnson was heading for the Reebok

because we are a proven premiership side who are awesome why wouldnt he come???

I haven't heard us called "awesome" recently, are you on drugs?

Are you just pi55ing around there, or are you being serious, can't tell but i hope your serious

Funny you should start that post with the letters tbh, since Wigan are reportedly paying Chelsea ??5.5m for Robert Huth (the world HAS gone mad!) and Chelsea will reinvest that money on Tal Ben Haim for ??6.5m.

AJ isn't worth ??8.5m

TBH isn't worth ??6.5m

BUT AJ is worth TBH plus ??2m in my opinion.

who's told you that? Not that I'm disputing your information, just bi curious?
