Bigtoe Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 You said i rather we tried (as though he's available) not I wished we had tried (as though he's gone) just to be pedantic.
chrisw99 Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 Would be quality, wouldn't come. He's been working for ITV World Cup as a pundit along with Big Sam, apparently staying in the same hotel. The rumour I heard last week, think it was on GMR, was that they've struck up a good friendship and JFH is very keen on our behind-the-scenes setup, training/motiviation that kind of thing. So you're right, he probably won't come.
Whites man Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 He's well past it, his last decent effort was Nutty Professor II: The Klumps in 2000.

You know, I thought it was Sam who came over to where we were stood with that BWFC flag and Widnes in his Bolton top but I thought it was the German beer, he even sounded like Sam
Traf Posted July 6, 2006 Posted July 6, 2006 I reckon we're more likely to sign Pink Floyd. JFH will sign for Charlton tomorrow.
jayjayoghani Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 I reckon we're more likely to sign Pink Floyd. JFH will sign for Charlton tomorrow. Not Friday but today. Traf ITK
Guest Natasha Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 Another good player signs elsewhere. Charlton FFS!!! I wonder where Allardyce was during the negotiations? Probably out auditioning for Coronation Street.
HoldensHairdo Posted July 11, 2006 Author Posted July 11, 2006 missed out on one there but i trust big sam...just hope we wake up through this transfer window and sign a few.
stinkythefrog Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 I would have liked to see JFH at the Reebok if only for one season . I keep hoping that Sam is going to pull a few rabbits out of the hat but we're already in pre-season so I am starting to waver
Brains Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 Maybe its because he doesnt keep in line with Big Sam wanting to bring in younger players. Than again, if thats the case, James Milner would be an excellent option at ??3.5m and i dont hear us being linked with him.
stinkythefrog Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 Well yes Sam was initially after younger players but give it another couple of weeks of non activity and we will end up with little choice but to sign whoever is available .
Traf Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 I reckon we're more likely to sign Pink Floyd. JFH will sign for Charlton tomorrow. Not Friday but today. Traf ITK JFH wanted ??30k a week and a 12 month deal: we baulked at the ??30k and offered ??20k basic. Penny pinching f??cktards.

Traf Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 MK, do those two possibilities have to be mutually exclusive?
Mounts Kipper Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 MK, do those two possibilities have to be mutually exclusive? fook me traf i am from L/H can you explain that in lay mans terms.
Mounts Kipper Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 put simply does it have to be one or the other yes i think it does, if we are going to sign a striker i expect someone quicker than Vaz Te.
Traf Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 I don't care how quick he is. Hasselbaink is the elusive proven Premiership goalscorer we've looked for. If Vaz T?? watched JFH for a season, it'd stand him in very good stead IMO. JFH has scored 127 goals in 263 Premiership appearances spread over 8 seasons: there was a season in Spain too where he scored 24 in 34 league games. Top flight record: 151 in 307: If kept fit and he'd played every week like Davies does, you're looking at 18 or 19 goals.
Casino Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 if kept fit is the issue, i reckon last year he scored less than stelios, i think
Traf Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 if kept fit is the issue, i reckon last year he scored less than stelios, i think 10 goals in 22 Prem games. Better than Steliios, I think.
Casino Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 aye, 1 more in the last two seasons he scored 23 in 58 he score 13 in his last full season, in a side that reached a uefa place jfh isn't what he was, and he would not get 18/20 goals for us can't say i feel like one got away
