Reebok Great Games

I think it is about time we highlighted superb games at the reebok i feel we have had as many superb performances at the reebok in 10 years than the last 20 years at burnden, we have beaten liverpool a top arsenal side more than once and the semi final win over villa was a great performance by the team, the year we escaped relegation was a superb rollercoaster ride with some fantastic support from the bolton faithful.

For me without doubt it was 3 years ago against West ham,and then the final home game against Boro. 2 fantastic results and a rippin atmosphere

We???ve had some great wins, but I can???t think of a single great game.

Saw a good Oasis concert there once though.

For me it is definatley the game against Leicster (Can't spell)

It was the one were Big Sam and Basset had the heart monitors on and we were down to 9 men in the first half!!!

When we equalised in the last few minutes to make it 2-2 It felt like we'd won a cup final!! :yahoo:

By far the best game i've been to at the Reebok and the best atmosphere!!! :good:

the game where we battered liescester[sic?] and Ricketts played as a holding midfielder

when they finally did score most boltons fans cheered for them!

one of the best league games for me was the game agaist spurs when we were desperate for a win and the hole stadium got behind the team and finaly we got a pen and jay jay was the coolest heas in the house to stroke it home. that was one of the best nights for me probably not everyones best but for me it felt great to be a bolton fan that night

4 - 1 against Ipswich.

5 - 2 in villa semi final.

Going 2 - 1 up against United in the last minute (then letting them equalise) - biggest

high and low in the space of a few minutes .

beat me to it =D>

mendy would have out run ben johnson that night

There has been some classics as mentoned above, we've had some great wins one that sticks in my mind is when we beat Liverpool in the last minute, when Westerveld f*cked up, wild celebrations that night

The 1-0 win over Charlton in the FA Cup quarter final is another that always sticks in my mind, i was certain we were going to win it that year, Dean Holdsworth

I thought this thread was about great games, not great memories.

All the above are great from a BWFC viewpoint, but weren???t necessarily great games. The 2-2 draw against Leicester was awful!

I???m saying there hasn???t been a truly great game at The Reebok yet, one that a neutral would be chuffed to have seen.

So there's not been one great game at the Reebok in 9 years?! stroll on

but thats the point gnasher

life as a fan - you know, one who is sad enough to have football as too big a part of his life - is about memories

great experiences

being one of 20 odd thou supporting his team to a victory

a good day out, shouting the lads on, culminating in a point or three - thats a great match

you don't get that, do you

We all have subjective memories and so they make us think they were great games. What is your obsession with 'how' a game is won.

You state to have successful friends (in your world). Ask them if they give a flying f*ck 'how' they became successful.

You are very naiive for a great pontificator.

Must have a face like a bag o' spanners(I know NB, I know, I know................).

There was a 2-1 win over Wolves late one season when we were both fighting for the last play off place. Big crowd, two "proper clubs" and a lot of vocal support. 0-1 at half time, turned it round, a superb game.

cant remember if it was 5-2 or 5-3 against palace. party time of staying up - and they thought they were staying up too......... :D

Great Reebok games? how about the 4-3 victory over Newcastle, on a Boxing day i think.

the defeat of arsenal the season after their invincibles act!

Terry Henry scuffed a cross and it sailed in to the north stand to a huge jeer, he the proceeded to point out his champions badge on his arm to the north west corner which was met with an even bigger jeer!!

The League cup semi against Villa!

THE West Ham game watching Joe cole throw a wobbly

The game where we sent Leeds down was fun too.

Plus the everton game the season before last, just for Bruno giving Cahill an old school policeman style clip round th'earole!!

i still wake up in my sleep having nightmares over that miss

We've had some great wins/games against Newcastle

What about the play-off win against West Brom to take us to Cardiff, an easy win in the end

I remember a 3-3 thriller against Birmingham in Division 1 on a Sunday, Per Fransen was superb that day

great shout, burnden, i deny even Natasha to say that was not entertaining.

Edited by Mounts Kipper

I defy anyone to say the wins over West Ham and Boro were not entertaining - edge of the seat stuff and brilliant atmosphere.

The first half against West Ham last season when we drubbed them was great too.

I wasn't there but the 1-1 draw with Arsenal (when Ped scored a cracking equaliser) must have been a belter for frizzy haired comic Alan Davies to call the Reebok a 'pit of hatred'.

THe 3-3 v Brum was a great game too - performance by Frandsen is the best I have seen by a Wanderer.

I'd probably opt for that one as well. Awesome second half performance. It reminded me very much of the big night atmosphere at Burnden. Beating the old foe was superb. Sure Eidur got one of the goals - a cracker from the edge of the box. Likewise, the 3-0 win over WBA was another superb balmy night at the Reebok.
