for those at work, were losing

ragging spunkgobblers.

Absolute shite and an inept and clueless performance. I think Mc.Laren will get found out very shortly.

agreed!! gutless performance, only Rooney comes out with any credit. to play 5 at the back and a new formation away to a decent side in what everyone knows is a difficult place is crass stupidity. To experiment like that shows ineptitude.

imo as long as england fans and pundits carry on with the delusion that crouch is an england centre forward then we will get what we deserve.

carrick, jenas, carragher also need replacing as does Robinson who forgot were he put his divot.

how long a contract have they given this clown?

I think Mc.Laren will get found out very shortly.

Its already happened

Picks a dodgy team

I didn't see a single positive contribution form Lampard, Parker or Carrick - granted I did sleep through a fair bit of the first half.......

Crouch has none of the instincts required to be a top striker

We've one real world class player, and he's having a bad time, and that just exposes the rest of them

McLaren is out of his depth, and his substitutions summed it up

He takes off three, puts on two wingers - i always thought that may lead to some crosses into the box - and takes off the one lump who may just be a target!

AND leaves on a full back playing on one leg

We are too slow as a team

The ball needs to be got forward quicker and it needs to stick - step forward Kevin Davies

I feel we're caught half way between the english game and the continental game

Its either/or for me

totally agree. i can see the two kevs being called up for one of the friendles before Israel next march.

if bolton continue to do well its a cert.

the likes of carrick, crouch, defoe, jenas, p neville, downing and richardson are all mediocre and the two k's would offer more fight, passion and effectiveness.

The bloke did f??ck all at Boro with millions at his disposal - he's next to clueless and todays 'lets try something new against our toughest opponents on their own pitch' proves it.

I reckon he was looking for the reset button in the 2nd half so he could start again because I reckon he's got his coaching experience from Champ Manager.

I didn't realise that Carrick was playing until about 35 mins. Absolute shite. Keiron Richardson?

The best bit was finding out that Phil Chuckle was injured in warm up so we were spared him coming on as a sub.

McClaren is inept tactically. When the second went in TV showed him writing in his little book. Was the fcuk was he writing:

1. Must have kicking practice for goalies!

2. Must teach Gary to pass forwards and try and score in the opposition net.

The man is a spoon.

The bobble was unfortunate, but why was someone of Neville's experience passing back directly towards the goal in the first place?

I'll tell you why.

Because he is f??cking shite.

In one matey, in one!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The number of times we passed it around the back then b- passed midfield with a ball into feet which was either intercepted or immediatley put rooney/crouch under pressure with back to goal was crazy.

Just cos the balls on the floor doesnt make it better/more effective.

our so called class players have proved they havent got the class to forego a little fight.

And yet fight they do not.

So the glarringly obvious answer is bring in the muscle.

It only takes one maybe two true class/flair/skillful players to help a team of passionarte try=hards work, we'vebeen doing it for years.!!!!!!!!

Unfortunately I can't.

No doubt at all that after tonight's shambles that we need major changes to the team and squad. We've stuck with the same bunch of players match after match after match and it's obviously not working. However I fully expect Mclaren to blindly stick with the exact same squad ... unless someone's injured or suspended of course.

Exactly. My two thoughts were:

1) Let's see what difference the subs make... Keiron Richardson, he'll change the game.

2) What the fook is he writing there?

Bring back Beckham. Given that set pieces are our only goal threat, he's the man.

if you list the available midfield players and then rank them, beckham would be ahead of alll except 2 or 3 of them.

he will still be young enough for the euro finals.

FACT - with beckham the only time we looked like scoring against decent teams was from set pieces, without him even that threat goes.

FACT - they will talk about injuries to hargreaves and billywhizz from spurs, both of whom were squad players before world cup.

FACT- at that level both kevins are not good enough, although they are no worse than others in the squad.

FACT- at that level both kevins are not good enough, although they are no worse than others in the squad.

FACT - we simply don't know if the Kev's will cut it

FACT - we do know that what we're doing at the moment isn't working

FACT - we didn't have a midfielder making the runs that Nolan would have done tonight

FACT - Davies is better than Crouch at holding the ball up

FACT - we simply don't know if the Kev's will cut it - but having seen them both play do you honestly think they are wrold class ?

FACT - we do know that what we're doing at the moment isn't working - True

FACT - we didn't have a midfielder making the runs that Nolan would have done tonight - at club level lampard does.

FACT - Davies is better than Crouch at holding the ball up - so is my grandma vi.

i am not saying that one or both they do not deserve a chance as they are no worse than what was palying tonight.

my honest opnion is that adding one or both of them to the team would not all of a sudden turn us into world beaters.

kevin d. is one of my favourite all time players and he is the best english target man in the league without a doubt but i think with his style of play he would be booked/sent off every match, noy his fault but that is how international get reffed these days.

if you could add one of the 2 kevins or beckhams to england team i think beckham would be the one most likely to make a difference.

but compared to jenas, richardson, carrick, nolan deserves a chance on his pereformances over last 2 seasons

Beckham appears to have been made the scapegoat for England's poor World Cup.

Swallow your pride McClaren and bring him back.

As for the 2 Kevs: Davies first IMO.

As most of us predicted, McLaren will be a disaster. What are the odds he will be the England manager with the shortest tenure in history? Stattos- who holds the record at present?

Until we pick a manager who is NOT afraid to drop the so called Big players, we will continue to be a very mediocre National Team.

Ok so he's potted Beckham, but he's done his 10 years, what about Lampard Carrick Gerrard Etc.

I actually giggled to myself when I saw the result.

The FA need to stop going for a 'Yes man' and go for someone who is not afraid to ruin reputations of some of the so called superstars.

The bobble was unfortunate, but why was someone of Neville's experience passing back directly towards the goal in the first place?

Not sure you can blame the Neviller for that goal. He'll probably play passes like that 5 times a match with no problems. twas just one of those things.

As of the rest of them, pile of shoite!!

OK the formation was a bag o w??nk but they are supposed to be top class footballers but they looked no better than the dog and duck!

my honest opnion is that adding one or both of them to the team would not all of a sudden turn us into world beaters.

Not world beaters but better than the last 9 month surely?

Kev D. is far better at doing what he does than Crouch. The latter is poor at best and greedy and stupid at his worst. The number of times he was penalised for having his arms on the opposing player's shoulders was exasperating. He also trys to go for goal regardless of players in better scoring positions.

As most of us predicted, McLaren will be a disaster. What are the odds he will be the England manager with the shortest tenure in history? Stattos- who holds the record at present?

The trouble is that the loons gave him a four year contract!!!! Surely it would be better give any coach 1 competition and then sit down afterwards to review his success. McLaren should go now! these two games prove to me that he is as useless as his former boss, I hear there is a vacancy coming up in Smogland.

Doesn't matter what McClaren thinks. With such a clueless lightweight in charge, the team these days will be picked by the press. If there's a "Bring Back Becks" campaign in the Stun then he'll end up playing again after suddenly "finding his form" or "becoming a more suitable player in the new formation".

The Kev's only chance of getting in the England Squad is if the press want the FA to put out an English Premiership team rather than trying to invent an uncomfortable English Continental style team. If they want steel and commitment then they should make that call to the Reebok!!

Whilst I agree that Davies is a better target man than crouch, I believe that Crouch "does more" with the ball. I think the problem last night was that both he and Rooney like coming short for the ball and when you're playing a 3-5-2, there's already a man there (supposedly) leaving us without anyone on their last defender's shoulder ala Michael Owen / Defoe / Bent / Johnson etc, which leads me to another point...

Pace!

At international level , sod that any level, pace can be a very important factor - look at Walcott's goals on Tuesday. We seemingly had no pace at all last night anywhere on the pitch, which lends itself to laboured build up play, but unfortunately without Beckham or Gerarrd no killer pass, which means after passing it around the back for a bit without getting anywhere we then lump it towards Crouch / Rooney...

Casino is right in that we're stuck inbetween styles.

Their 2nd goal is a freak occurrence, one for the sh??te Xmas presents like own goals and gaffs. No point portioning blame.

For me Maclaren isn't a decent enough Manager - as said previously, you don't experiement tactics / formations versus a team that have never lost a competitive match on their patch.

On the Beckham thing, a decent Manager would have had a word in his ear after the WC and said listen son you're not an automatic choice anymore but you have a role to play, roll up your sleeves and show me a decent performance. You then pick him in the next game - he plays well, he keeps his place; Plays badly, then a dropping is justified. Beckham is a huge influence on all the players, especially the younger ones so he'd be good to have just around the place. He has plenty of big match experience and also of entering "cauldrons of hate" like Croatia.

We were shit, mainly because the manager made a calamitous mistake in trying a new formation in a tough away game.

He did that because he's an idiot. I and everyone else here knew what was coming. Seven clean sheets in a row and he changes the defence around? Madness.

'We need another system' he says - well don't look for it in our toughest group game you clown.

From the moment he was appointed I said we are now back to the dark days of the Taylor era, and I'm more convinced than ever now.

it made me laugh how ofter chuckle brother got criticised because there was no ball down the line for him to play, not sure why that is his fault.

he actually played a couple of decent balls to rooney but he was totally off his game, i was halfing expecting hus frustration to get the better of him.

the biggest criticism i have of mclaren is [picking players like Jenas who simply will not play, they are in the squad we have an injusy crisis in midfield people get suspended and we bring new players in who get a game ahead of them, so why have them there in the first place ?

so he leaves out a player he might use in beckham and picks a player he wont in Jenas. explain that to me....
