The catalyst that started the Bolton 'revolution'.

He helped attract all the star players who followed.

One of the best players I have ever seen in a white shirt.

Should have retired when he left Bolton IMO.

Au revoir Youri D.

A fantastic player. Remember all the morons in the press started banging on about mercenaries / last pay-day when he signed for us, and he was a true professional and gave the other players a huge lift just by being in the team.

as i said in my Jackburn match report Youri was a legend the classiest player we have seen

in a white shirt. Thanks for the memories YOURA legend see what i did there :D

taxi for Mr Hughes

Now that he's retired, the club should get him back to a home game and get him on the pitch so the fans can show their appreciation for what he did for us. Had the good fortune to meet him at Newark airport last year and he was an absolute gent and spent 10mins talking to us about his time at Bolton - he had nothing but praise for the club. A true wanderers legend! =D>

Aye it would raise the atmosphere for the game as well. Legend

Bring him on for the Everton game at home, they know how to appreciate a legend.

Agree 100%, somebody e-mail those dipsticks at the Reebok.

In fact, don't bother, they're a useless bunch of f??ckwits who won't listen to any suggestions from their customers.

the man was a god

the man was a god

Is it correct to put the word "god" into a tense? I'm sure someone/thing either is or isn't a god. Can this status ever been descinded?

Just wondering like.

I think that provided you use the word "god" in a lower case then it can refer to any deified person or object. Whilst he was a magnificent player, I'm not to sure if he was omnipotent, which would of course ellevate him to god status :-k

Good to hear that, I dearly hope that he knows the fans adore him, even if the club treated him like dogshit.

Great player, who showed true class on and off the pitch and a will and and desire to succeed in the english game, lets hope Mr Anelka can learn a lesson fom Mr Djorkaeff.

Nice clarification CWP, but it doesn't really answer the question about tense...was he a god, or is he a god? B)

With or without a capital G?

A classy player, one of few who seemed to be able to create more time on the ball through his deft touch and close control, elegant and graceful when running with the football. Frank Worthy also had these traits. :good:

Come on, Frankie Worthy was a million miles away from being the player Youri was. Only Okocka and Hierro can really be put in the same league.
