Aye remember the piano bar when it was Pink Panthers, the days when people had some sit-down grub (a la Ritzy) then went for a boogie (little corner of the room with mirrors, white handbags (pink for the ladies) Rick Astley, Fat Back Band)

Remember Olivers? Pernod and blacks for a quid, free pint pot round your head.

Olivers is one of the reasons I now avoid wearing high heels. I looked like Dick Emery at the best of times in them, but negotiating that staircase and not going arse over tit after a bacardi or 2 was nigh on impossible.

I now think on and wear a flat shoe!

NB - older & wiser (or is that wider?) :good:

Was that the grotty little hell hole that was "downstairs" near to St Andrews Court?

Olivers was the doorway between M & S & Dunn & Co.

It was called the Lower Nags Head previous to that.

But yes, twas also a grotty little hell hole that was "downstairs" except their house special wasn't Tizer! WTF was in that shite?

No CWP....That was Begeracs.

That's the place, a fantastic establishment. One of my mates got barred from there, which must have taken some doing, as it seemed like an "anything goes" type place

The Lower Nags Head was a great pub - with a little dance floor. You used to be able to go through the toilets at the back to cut through and bring you out opposite British Home Stores.

Further up the same road towards Knowsley Street you also the unbelivable experience that was Sundowners. God the time I spent in that pit in my youth :good:

I think you'll find it was called Dogdowners for some strange reason.

Isn't that the basement of J2 now?

You went out in Farnworth and lived to tell the tale?! Still, fey young thing that I was it was Hawthorns all the way. I still can't listen to Saturn 5 without breaking out in a cold sweat and pining for a bottle of Newky Brown

a few walkdenwhites were there before the west brom play off game (about 3ish), we nicked a castle lager flag from the dj booth and bought a tin of spray paint...

the sight of an intoxicated colinh trying to fight the natural force of wind without covering himself in black paint will live with me for a long time...

did anyone complete the cocktail menu in bergeracs?

Is that hovel Taskers still going? - I remember copping off with a girl in there about 10-12 years ago. I went to the bar to get some drinks, and when I came back she was having an epileptic fit on the floor :shok: - That was a bizarre evening
