July 26, 200719 yr Bright Red VW Beetle 72 plate. I passed my test only to find my boyfriend had bought it me (spoilt bitch!). It only cost him about ?300 but was in perfect nick. It had 25,000 genuine miles on the clock, was owned by a spinster school teacher who had left it in the garage for years. Bonus when I found out I didn't have to tax it. Seen it since in Westhoughton painted a horrible metallic purple. I have great memories (not mammories) of this car. My first outing was to the three pigeons at hunger hill on a sunday when i accidentally switched the windscreen wipers on, on a red hot day and could not, for the life of me, work out how to switch the buggers off. I used to love the american style wagon wheel size steering wheel! Another time I drove 6 miles without taking the handbrake off , thankfully I have changed and can now park on a sixpence! I could not get used to the Beetle community waving at me manically just because I was driving the same car - weird. Fond memories anyhoo!
