Not Quite Sure What Happened Today

thought we played well enough to win, but when sammy took mccann off the midfield fell apart.

not too dishearted really as is was a crackin header to win it.

diouf and anelka played really well.

cid as many have already said, he is not up to the task just yet.

obrien was superb when he came on, a proper defender at last!!!

and wilhelmsson, how fukcin quick is he!!!

everton came for a draw and snatched a win, its what they do. and do it very well to be fair.

dont think ive ever been so optimistic after a defeat.

can you fcuking read?

don't try and put words in my mouth

care to tell me who in our league plays 'attractive' football, whatever the fcuk that means

imo, the teams that play the stuff your sort would call attractive, are united, arsenal, spurs (who win fcuk all despite spending the equivalent of the UKs gold reserves) and usually one of the relegated ones

its hard to play football in this league and be successful

i presume you could do it, which begs the question why you're on here and not waiting for awicks to give up the ghost

Pointless continuing the discussion, you are clearly a grade one idiot.

Shocker again by the fat disgrace. Spent his time moaning as per usual. So slow it is unbelievable. Offers nothing at all

Absolutely spot on!!!I was beginning to think I was the only one who'd noticed!WHY is he still wearing the captains armband?FFS Sammy take it off "The Retard" and give it to someone who gives a sh!te and knows what he's doing!!I actually thought we'd sold him to Everton today and he'd sneaked on the pitch disguised in a white shirt.Funny how things change but Nicky Hunt was like Pele compared to "Lard Arse"!He'd probably fit in well in the England squad the fat lazy salad dodger!

Nolan should definately come off today instead of McCann!

Nolan was really poor today.. his form seems to have just gone downhill ever since the talk of him playing for England!

yeh... they won 2-0 today

Tis a bit harsh...

Cruel to be kind!If it makes him get his finger out then all well and good!

I agree, but at least let's try instead of playing the 8-1-1 drivel of the past 2 years

I take it you mean the 4-5-1 "drivel" that got us a top eight finish four years in a row and two euro tours.

We're not far off being a very good side. This season is one of transition and the signs are very good. Everton are a good side and today the better side lost. Iron out the defensive mistakes and we're there ... that said iron them out quickly

Homer.

Ya out ya bin mate.

The defense played well individually, but didnt have a clue as a unit .

the midfield is lost completely none of them know where they are playing.

we gave them 2 goals from 2 defensive lapses. but thats only cos the midfield offers them zero support, no-one knows where they are supposed to be be playing , what formation was it ?

we were second best , pity all the best chances were for us but we didnt convert them.

pity we were second best to the second ball.........................................mind you I am hammered.

Call it what you like, but 8-1-1 was used many times by FSA.

As I have said many times, if you want success at all costs, great go for 4-5-1.

Sadly, many fans are sick of the awful football and would happily settle for 8 places lower and the odd pass and attacking ambition.

I know most fans want the former, but thats fine. If I am paying ?65 a game I want some ambition to try and win and some entertainment. Today I got both and for me, a 2-1 defeat in this manner is a million times better than many of the 1-0 back to the wall 8-1-1 wins under FSA.

Over time, maybe the new style will get success also.

And remember, our form even with the 8-1-1 at the back end of last season was terrible

correct, we are now in that that position were the football is much improved yet the results are much worse.

fantastic isnt it..............

this is like an out of body experience:

The negatives for me were. we lost. CID dived in. nobby needs to lose a stone and gain some confidence.

But the positives. I came away exhuasted. we were fast, energetic, entertaining. Other than the Arsenal home game last season that was the best performance by my beloved club for a long long time. samuel meite alonso anelka dioufy were tremendous!!!!

I look forward to the rest of the season. someone is going to get a right good hammering from us. financially we can't compete with 18 other premiership clubs. reading and derby apart, so we've been punching above our weight for about 4 years. But i can't help feeling really enthuisiastic about this season. We'll finsh mid table, but fasten you seat belts we're in for a roller coaster.

Our friend was right, it would be nice to play derby next. But we can batter brum....

Oh by the way. we are a fickle lot...... even nicky hunt has upped his game. Applause from all quarters as he walked around the pitch!!! Yeee Haaa

hopefully now obrien will start every game and we go on a 8 game winning streak and shut all the tw.ats up...

was a good game today, end to end, Everton certainly didn't look like they wanted a draw, they had a good go at us and vice versa

difference for me was that Everton have a midfield 4, we have a collection of midfielders

they had two in the middle who can get hold of it, pass it about and protect their back 4 - they had two wide men who were mobile, and could get forward

we have to me an imbalance with 4 central players being stretched about all not quite sure who is doing what

good game but defence is still shaky and there are still holes in midfield that need filling - going forward, no complaints at all

just like under Todd eh

Not a ring endorsement :nea:

Exactly, we had a midfield 5 wit Diouf trying to support Anelka. Other than Speed who tried to sit in front of the defence, the rest of them did not look like they knew where they were supposed to be. When we lose the ball, there are massive gaps which leaves the lads at the back exposed. It's no surpise that we have conceded so many goals already to teams taking us apart on the counter attack.

I agree that we look good going forward and we are throwing more men up than for a long time, but its no good if we leave the back door open.

Football is about results. It always will be.

BWFC have had the worst start in 21 years.

They have played none of the top 4 - only Everton of the first 5 games will finish in the top 6.

In the Newcastle and Portsmouth games we were inept.

The defending has been consistently outrageous - Cid is not fit for Bury never mind the Prem League.

I know i am renowned for being negative and havent posted this season purposely but some of the optimsim on here has really got me chortling.

We are next to bottom for gods sake and once down there we all know how difficult it is to get out.

5 games in and a top half finish in already looking out of the question and Europe well quite simply forget it.

Lee is out of his depth. You cannot cut your teeth on management at this level. Surely we all agree on that.

I'd give him 2 more games. If we fail to win in the next 2 i'm afraid he has to go IMO.

admit it, now it seems that cid wont be starting, youve gotta be more optimistic, yes?
