carrick loyalist Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 The son of ex-Bolton hero John MGinlay is being chased by Oldham and Bradford after banging in Goals for Irish side Bohemians. Michael McGinlay 19 , had spells at Man City and Cincinnati kings in the US , where his Dad is coach. ( people ). Rave reviews over here about him the people even missing the battle between, Rangers and Celtic for him. I don't think he would of needed much persauding to come to Bolton .
BWFCOLINH58 Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 sign him up, shirt sales alone with mcginlay on back would cover costs...
Zico Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 I don't think he would of needed much persauding to come to Bolton . given that oldham, bradford and some other small time outfits are after him he probably wouldnt
Carlos Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 given that oldham, bradford and some other small time outfits are after him he probably wouldnt McGin snr played for both.
Andybwfc Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 Michael was at Man City and was released by them at 17 years old. He was in the same team as Schmiechal junior.
Churchill Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 sign him up, shirt sales alone with mcginlay on back would cover costs... That Col is very true!!
bwfcbromcross Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 Played with him and against him fantastic player.
Gumbo Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 Michael will do well at Oldham or Bradford! He was released by City as third choice striker to Kelvin Etuhu and Danny Sturidge. the goal keeper was Lawrence Mathewson, he played in the same year as Michael Johnson and Micah Richards in a very strong Under 18 side that reached the Youth Cup final Unfortunatly for Michael he was the one not making the grade

Casino Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 I have no idea what you mean.... its nowt cryptic, don't be worrying bout that i thought you went to the kids game?
Gumbo Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 There was an incident involving Bolton black centre half (Dave, he got player of the month) and a City left midfield player No physical contact was made and then Dave went mental, we presume that something was said as to the way Dave reacted however i have no comformation of this yet, Both players were sent off, City won 2-1
Casino Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 gbemie or similar only report I've seen was a city fans blog (urgh, hate that word) and he suggested the same naughty lad
jules_darby Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 gbemie or similar only report I've seen was a city fans blog (urgh, hate that word) and he suggested the same naughty lad That's about right. If our "Big Dave" hadn't been held back by virtually the whole team, the little Spud-picking City oik would have done well to have been alive. Not only does Dave look like he can handle himself, he's a decent player too - our best u18 from what I saw. Interesting move he made from Liberia to Walkden though...

Gumbo Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 Correct Jules, that lad didnt play we played 4-5-1 and looked a little dis jointed, to be honest the whole game was scrappy with a lot of ill discipline, sorry to say much was from the Bolton side and if that little Bolton shit would have said ref ref ref one more time...

Hes doing ok at Bohs but wouldn't say hes banging the goals in hes only scored two and the one against Derry City was a bit of a goalkeeping mistake any decent keeper would have just picked the ball up,he would probably do ok at Bradford but can't see him being able to play above that level
jules_darby Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 Sometimes, taking two steps backwards can result in three steps forward. Just the 2 steps? See what happens when you go away - you get misty eyed about places back home!
