Heard from a very reliable source that WBA have rejected a bid from Bolton for Zoltan Gera and Kevin Philips yesterday.

 

We are expected to go back with a revised offer.

given I doubt that swedish bloke will join us, and there aren't any great strikers available that spring to mind, phillips may not be too bad a choice, but only till the end of the season

I think Gera would be a decent buy. Phillips is a finisher and a canny footballer. If they were the same age I'd choose him over Jason Roberts.

Very true - but I recall he scored a cracker from outside the box into the Embankment end goal when we beat Cambridge Utd 6-1 in 1980/81 - I don't know who was more shocked, me or him! Wasn't he always missing games due to a headache or something?!
