Season ticket for 25 years now, since 1982 (missed one year 1990 - Australia for a year with the lads, like you do! I did keep in touch though, ring my dad every week for the updates. Lost to bloody Tranmere that season in play offs and Man U in cup). O and I did have a season ticket in 1978 (when my dad 'made' me go when at the time I wasn't arsed about football, too young I think...strange I know but true).
The only thing that?s kept me going this season is the crack & the rinse before and after the match with the lads, the matches for some time now have been spoiling a good day. All of us feel the same way, its not just this season we all started feeling like this, it started last season.
Dont get me wrong the Euro trips have been great, even the Euro matches at home I have enjoyed but the games in the Premiership at the Reebok have become boring, I just don?t get up for it like I used to. I wish I did but I just cant. Does anyone feel the same?
Also for the first time ever the fact we are going down is not bothering me, now if you asked me 4/5 years ago (or when ever it was) when we were fighting relegation I felt ill, depressed, obsessed with other results, couldn't sleep, effected my home life & work, it was f*cking horrible. But now it isn?t effecting me, I feel I should be all of the above depressed etc etc but Im not.
Strange but Im almost looking forward to the Championship, the away games, 'proper' football, 'proper' fans, it will bring back the memories from the 80's & 90's - f*cking great times - even though the team had many rough patches I have better memories form those times than I do now (apart from Europe of course). You felt more together on those away days, you were part of the club ? now the club don?t give 2 sh*ts.
Im hoping when we go down I get that spark again and start enjoying going to the match.
Does anyone else feel the same about anything Ive said.....I hope so or am I on my own?
