If you want the best gigs of all time I am torn between Floyd at Earls Court 1981 ish - The Wall

and The Smiths Free Trade Hall 1984 ish followed by a sesh in the Hacienda.

Hawkwind at the Apollo 1979 and 1980, Motorhead also 1980 ish.

The Stone Roses at Sheffield on their last tour was also a bit special.

Oh Happy Days.........

The Roses at their last Manchester gig the day before xmas eve. Brown came on and said 'What Do You Want For Christmas?' At the climax of I Am the whole palce was blasted with fake snow. Superb!

Ultrasound, Carter USM, the the, velvet underground and supertramp. God only knows why I have'nt seen carter must, have been very drunk.

Jesus, I'd forgotten about carter. Top band!

Smiths

Stone Roses

Happy Mondays

James

Inspiral Carpets

All on the same bill.

Hmmm, the Happy Mondays supported the Stone Roses when I saw them at Sheffield, Two out of five aint bad spose.

Would have liked to have seen the Inspiral Carpets.

Out of the current crop only band I'd bother with would be Hot Chip all the rest sound very similar.

Steps

Cheeky Girls

Black Lace

Hear'say

Village People

I saw Carter the second time they played BIHE bar for about 2 quid when Sheriff Fatman was released. The played the refectory after they made it "big".

Stone Roses Blackpool roll-call: Iamin.

Carter are playing a few gigs at the back end of this year.

Sheriff Fatman started out in business as a granny farmer.

He was infamous for fifteen minutes and he appeared on Panorama.

Then he got himself on board the Starship Enterprise Allowance Scheme,

With a Prince of Wales award for pushing valium and amphetamines

Now he's moving up onto second base, behind Nicholas Van Wotsisface

At six foot six and a hundred tons: the undisputed king of the slums

And then it's:

More aliases than Klaus Barbie: the master butcher of Leigh-on-Sea

Would have liked to have seen the Inspiral Carpets.

You still can. They have just resurrected Cow records and started their 'return Of The Cow 2008' national tour in Oxford last month.

They played BIHE, I was there but didn't pay much attention. They also played the Preston Avenham Park thing the same year as Oasis I think.

Would have loved to have gone to this gig;
