May 12, 200818 yr From the Bolton news, so probably a load of shite: "I know he's not everyone's favourite but we got four points from the two games he played - and that's more than we did away from home with Nicolas Anelka"
May 12, 200818 yr and how many goals did rasiak score and how many did anelka score? aye but when anelka played we felt the need for every play to go through him and oddly enough i felt it made us worse. i'm in no way trying to say rasiak is better than Anelka just that perhaps Anelka was too good for the rest of em.
May 12, 200818 yr Author aye but when anelka played we felt the need for every play to go through him and oddly enough i felt it made us worse. Spot on.
May 12, 200818 yr Who were the opponents in the two Rasiak away games and the two Anelka away games he is talking about? Also were the opponents playing for something? We only started winning at boro when he took the fucker off as well!!
May 12, 200818 yr Who were the opponents in the two Rasiak away games and the two Anelka away games he is talking about? Also were the opponents playing for something? We only started winning at boro when he took the fucker off as well!! He's not talking about two Anelka away games, he's talking about half a seasons worth.... Anelka = Fulham Pompey Brum Derby Arsenal West Ham Liverpool City Everton Sunderland = 2 pts Rasiak = Middlesbrough Tottenham = 4pts

Anelka = Fulham Pompey Brum Derby Arsenal West Ham Liverpool City Everton Sunderland = 2 pts Rasiak = Middlesbrough Tottenham = 4pts He cant surely put that down to him! Dont forget the defence was shite at that time with no Cahill or Steinsson. We conceded 23 goals in the above 10 games and 1 in the bottom 2 games, you can do the maths. Megson is just trying to cover up the failiure to bring in a striker.
May 12, 200818 yr As good as anelka is, he is an unsettling influence within every club he has played for as he is forever looking for the next move, I said at the time we would be a better unit without him, it has taken longer than I thought but I think I have been proved right.
May 12, 200818 yr I hope with that comment hes not leading to the permenant signing of rasiak headline
May 12, 200818 yr F*cking Megson has more spin than a Labour party conference...he can make a positive out of anything...still when you've got his CV s'pose you need to... he must of said on MOTD last night twice that bolton were below derby when he took over...

FFS sake the guy can't win, why shouldn't he put a positive spin on things? As manager he's kept up a side that were rock bottom after a quarter of the season. his signings from january have kept us up as well as give us a much better team ethic than when he took over. this quote that the BEN have used has more than likely come from a much larger interview and rather than say 'that Rasiak is well shite we only signed him as a favour to a mate' he's chosen to praise a fella who's come in and played back up without throwing a wobbly and bitching. May 12, 200818 yr Rasiak IMO is on the cards now bottom line is meggo is sweeting us up as i guarente you all he will be our first summer signing signaling the door for Helguson

May 12, 200818 yr Were these the two games where Rasiak was substituted at half time? Yes, after he'd done his job of making sure we kept it tight for the first half, so we could go for it more in the second with Diouf. Tactics, i think they call it.
May 12, 200818 yr reckon that says more about our style of play under megson than of the ability of either anelka or rasiak he's saved us but I hope it's not a sign of the types of players and football we'll have to look forward to I say I hope it's not but I know it is
May 13, 200818 yr I dont care that we stayed up under megson. I beleive it was inspite of him that we stayed up. He can still feck off and take the lanky pole with him. There is a few on here that have changed there tune though. Edited May 13, 200818 yr by BeeDee
May 13, 200818 yr "I know he's not everyone's favourite but we got four points from the two games he played - and that's more than we did away from home with Nicolas Anelka" Anyone who read that and agreed with any of it, even a tiny amount should know that they have air where their brains should be. If I recall correctly, during this interview he was defending himself on his Rasiak signing and also about the Lisbon team. I think he actually said he put out the strongest team he could and the others were ALL injured! I can understand Megson wanting to gloat and he must have a huge resentment about all the flack he received. After the amazing run in the last few games he's abviously feeling more confident and trying to justify MASSIVE mistakes he made. He'd have much much more credit from me if he took some responsibility for both the good and the bad! He always says it's nothing to do with him, even after something good! No Gaz it's your job to make very important decisions that affect all the football side of the club! Admit that Selling Anelka nearly relegated us and that you angered more fans than any other Bolton manager in history by your decision to go out of the UEFA cup to try to stay up! Then I'll back you 100%

This guy will slowly but surely drain the quality out of the side. Anyone who thinks the current crop is an improvement over last year needs their head examining. The loss of Diouff, Stelios, Campo and Jussi will make it worse. I see us locked in a 4 way battle with the promoted team next season. Megson is not the answer.

Campo is now terrible and Al Habsi is as good as Jussi if not better. The other two would be a loss though.

Anything better than a relegation scrap again and I would be chuffed and very surprised. Personally, I already believe that Stoke and the winner of Hull and Bristol City will go straight back down. WBA, Fulham in a battle for the other relegation spot. I am hoping against hope that we aren't involved in that same battle.

Megson is not the answer. that depends if the players perform like they did in the last 6 games or like the run of 6(?) straight defeats.... they have proved they ARE good enough, its all about consistancy... a couple of players are we'll be good for comfortable midtable mediocrity...
