Bigtoe Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 Note to Bolton SPEND if needs be to get some old faces like JJ back to bolster the atmosphere - imagine the response to him coming onto the pitch prior to kick off. others as well - especially Supa Here here.
fester58 Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 For us longer serving suffering Bolton fans you often have to pinch yourself that the likes of JJ and Youri have pulled on the White shirt. For all BSA negatives, the big man will always be owed one for bringing these world class players to The Reebok. bloody hell yatesy, have you forgot some of the talent of yesteryear. ray deakin eric snookes steve elliott iam moores now they were proper footballers
magic legs Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 West Ham , not only for the goal but also for the run he made down the wing later. Also the game (against a team who escapes me - someone will know) at the reebok where Youri fired the ball across field to him and he had to backtrack a bit to pick it up; so just to emphasise that point he immediately banged it back to Youri, inch perfect to his foot. That's why I say genius - it was just so natural to him he could decide to do summat like that on a whim. It was Everton at home that he did that. aye but he made up for it by flicking it over parlour's head again later on That always makes me smile. He was stood about 2 foot in front of Parlour and he somehow chipped the ball over his head and ran round him - Parlour was left staring into the space where JJ was. Classic.

The look on Parlours face was priceless " Were'd the ball gooo, oh crap he's done me " Then the second time, "Right then I'm watching him, I'm watching him he's not going to do me again, oh no no nooooo F************* done me again FFS!!!!!!"

DirtySanchez Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 spoke to a hull fan last week said despite only a few appearances, okocha did things he'll never forget and whatever he cost them it was worth it Thing is, I know a fair few Hull fans who would say the opposite. Football fans, there's no pleasing them!
Zico Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 In the pub before that game with soem mates who are Spurs, tols them that Jay-Jay was nt really performing ......hit bar 3 (4?) times. it truly was one of the matches you look back on and say "I was there that day" only if you were there mind which I was
frank_spencer Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 Watching JJ and Nakata warm up at half time was a sight to behold fook knows how they did what they did with a football over the last few years we've been spoilt with fantastic footballers (ability wise) at the club: JJ, Youri, Nakata, Hierro, Campo and Pedders I fear it'll be a while before we see the likes again.
Zico Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 over the last few years we've been spoilt with fantastic footballers (ability wise) at the club: JJ, Youri, Nakata, Hierro, Campo and Pedders I spotted your little joke there Nakata indeed
frank_spencer Posted June 6, 2008 Posted June 6, 2008 I spotted your little joke there Nakata indeed sorry i meant Nishizawa (now that was a flop of a transfer)
MickyD Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 I was talking to Phil Brown yesterday. He was telling me he named JayJay as player of the season to a local (Hull) journalist. The journalist didn't get it but Browny explained to him the amount of motivation JayJay creates and the higher profile he makes the club is worth far mor than chipping in with the odd goal. He also said he'd be giving Windass anothe season's contract as a thankyou for the goal that put them up. Who says there's no sentiment in Football? He won't come back to Bolton while PG is chairman because he did the dirty on him regarding who would follow BFS as manager. PG told Browny it was doubtful it'd be him as he'd never managed a club. He's pretty sore that he then went and gave it to LSL who also hadn't managed a club prior to his elevation at WFC. MickyD, chatting to the stars!
adambwfc Posted June 7, 2008 Posted June 7, 2008 The memory i most rememebr was with stoppage time approaching he took the ball into the corner and literally did not move from there for about 3 minutes juggling with the ball. Eventually ref just blew for the end 2 minutes early cause there was no way(Newcastle?) were ever gonna get the ball off him.
