well yes, that is why it is the best

How many bumps have you had in it??

I reckon you should fit a roll cage in it, take out the glass and start a career as a banger racing driver!!

That's an AX GT, they were 1.4 and fairly nippy at the time. Oli's 1.1 is basically a pram.

Ford Orion, 1.4 - 'twas a right heap, it leaked water when it rained, and had a habit of the engine cutting out when sat at traffic lights. It was a heap, but I liked it - I sold it for ?175, and never saw it again

S Reg Green 1600 Ford Cortina MK 2, bought in 83. I wrote if off on St Peters way, right behind Burnden

Surely (as I'm a terrible car anorak) an S reg would've been 1978/79 and therefore a Mk 4? JSL

Morris 1100 - I have improved since

Sorry I stand corrected :pardon:

J reg mini 850 mine was

Mk 2 Ninky Nonk for this kid.

I pulled some fanny in that, I'll tell you.

Ninky Nonk's are shite, mate.

The Pinky Ponk's much better.

Maestro that defintely did not live up to its name. Bought it in a car lot in Acton, west London, where they used to film some "Minder" episodes. Conked out as I drove it away - half sticking out into a busy Acton High Street. It was down hill from there on - eventually someone bought it for nowt, by which point it would only do 3rd or reverse.

Odd thing was that though it was bought down there, just by chance it had a Bolton number plate :pardon:

Th'owd chap was an Arfur Daley 2nd hand car dealer at the time so I was lucky to get a BMW2002tii in fluoro yellow. Petrol bills in the first month nearly feckin killed me so it was very rapidly swapped for a 1.3L Mark 3 Cortina XLG907J. Slow as a wet week but at least I could afford to run the fecker.

Hardly likely many will remember but the scum were in one of the Euro comps shortly after and copped a 4 nil drubbing away at Porto. Some of Boltons finest went to the home leg to wind up the Stretford Paddock (and it kicked off nicelyspiteful.gif) and it was absolutely pissing down on the way there. Wipers packed up. Lad in t'passenger seat jumped out and into a garden near Swinton and nicked a washing line. Cut to length, out of passenger and driver window and tied to each wiper - passenger seat man became the wiper motor :D

Worked too.

Even better, United won the home leg 5-1 and went out on away goals  Us Bowton lads had some fun and games that night I can tell thee

In me Cortina I used to keep a rope in there for winter. The locks would freeze overnight, and after using a little warm water to coax the lock to open, the mechanism that keeps the doors closed would freeze in the open position, hence the rope, ttied across the interior the car, keeping the doors closed.

There was also an 'advanced engine management system' fitted, whereby in winter you poited the the carb air inlet at the engine, and in summer pointed it the front of the car.

Happy days.

Daughter's got one! She's 3.

british racing team green HILLMAN IMP ::lol::

Ford Fiesta, 1.1, yellow, black trim, wheel arches, bucket seats, spotlights, sports steering wheel, etc, etc. Got nicked from outside Blackburn's printers off Shiffnall back in early 1990. Never recovered it.

Then I got a Ford Escort. Ran it into the ground. Got another Escort, but this time Automatic off a bloke who had a club foot - thus there was minor damage on the door frame where he'd got in and out of the car.

This was followed by two successive Ford Orion's - the latter blew up when I sold it to a mate as he'd got about 20 yards from our house!! Still he'd only paid me ?15 for it!

I then had another Fiesta (white) for too many years before my Renault Scenic.

Not sure what to get next time, or whether to stick with the Scenic.

Second han Diahatsu Charade. It was a 1 litre but someone put a turbo engine in it, was like sh*t off a shovel.

It'd be interesting to see it again saying as it was knicked
