U18s - Its the future - Even the manager isnt a wanker

 

Best games at HP last season were our Youth Team's run to the QF where Citeh walloped us on way to winning trophy.

 

Spurs at Home in the 5th Round on 11th Feb (posers are playing a tounament in Mexico this week).

 

If we beat them winners of tonight's Sunderland v Arsenal ties. Easy.

 

At the end of the day its all about producing players to the first team.

 

The bindippers nicked Gosling off us at 17 last year after he got into the 1st team.

 

Liam Head who has been in the England youth squads has been signed up at 17

 

Newcastle have knicked a 14 year old off us for ?1/4M, which is something which needs sorting..

Great result for the academy lads, I hope the club do a freebie for the 1/4 final it would be nice to see 10,000 there cheering the kids on.

I was at that game in 1972, I think it was a Saturday when the first team were playing away at Wrexham (?) The crowd in the 0-1 defeat against Arsenal was around 6-7,000. We had a fine youth team that year many of who broke into the first team

Me too. I remember Neil Whatmore missing a sitter. I seem to recall someone walking round with a blackboard with the score from Wrexham now and then.

Was that Javlon Campbell who started as centre forward and then went to right midfield?He caused the United defence one or two problems before the first goal.No teamsheet issued which was annoying.

There was little else to do on a Saturday afternoon. . . and you'd get to see first teamers coming back from injury and fringe players. I've been to a few reserve games up at Euxton and didn't recognise too many of the players. Do they now have a policy of not playing the big names?
