January 22, 200917 yr Going to Hull City!!! Sky Sports News. Is he on crack? said he went throu a red light to get there
January 22, 200917 yr He must be waiting for a bigger team to jump in surely? Can see Megson jumping in for him again, Will be a good signing
January 22, 200917 yr Hull beating us to a signing is p1ss poor. Rangers / everton / blackburn or any of the other usual average prem teams is understandable but Hull?? There's only one way they're heading, if not this season then next. If its around ?6m we have fvcked up.

I don't think the fee would be the issue, it would more than likely be the personel terms.........i.e him wanting circa ?50K per week
January 22, 200917 yr He must be waiting for a bigger team to jump in surely? I agree, I reckon the bid has "gone public" in order to entice other teams, I don't see why he would swap Fulham for Hull (unless it is purely out of greed)
January 22, 200917 yr ?5 million fee agreed between clubs. Perhaps they offered him a longer contract than bwfc were willing to.
January 22, 200917 yr Ey? The two clubs have agreed a fee, there's no mention of them agreeing anything with the player (yet!). Furthermore, it's reported that we didn't agree a fee so didn't get to the talking to the player stage nevermind offering contracts.
January 22, 200917 yr Or perhaps we don't have ?5mil to spend, let alone spend it on a 30 yr old with dodgy knees looking for one last big pay packet. Theres no chance in the world of him going to Hull though. I'd expect us to go back in for him.
January 22, 200917 yr Maybe, just maybe: Megson didn't feel that a ?5m+ fee and ?10m in wages over a 4 yr deal represented great value for money for a 30yr old with dodgy knees.
January 22, 200917 yr Maybe, just maybe, players sit across the desk from Megson and listen to his less-than-charismatic or enthusiastic attitude and are more attracted to signing for another club/manager. Not sure Hierro/Anelka/Youri/Okocha et al would ever have played for us if Megson was manager at the time.
January 22, 200917 yr Bullard - ?5m ?50k a week dodgy knees yeah but aren't all prem footballers over priced and over paid - he'd add to our squad got to bust a gut to get him in he's defo on his last big pay day but if it means 3 or 4 seasons for us so be it As for Megson sitting across the desk he must have drugged Cahill and Taylor...I jest........credit where it's due he sold us to them
January 22, 200917 yr Maybe, just maybe, players sit across the desk from Megson and listen to his less-than-charismatic or enthusiastic attitude and are more attracted to signing for another club/manager. Maybe that is true in some case's Clown - but seeing that Fulham refused our offer, Megson never actually got to speak to Bullard - it certainly didn't happen in this one!!! You (and many others) don't seem to let facts stand in the way of your hatred of Megson! On a related issue Bolton agreed a price for Andy Johnson before Everton - but he still went to Everton - Hull have not signed him yet! Edited January 22, 200917 yr by Sluffy
January 22, 200917 yr They my have agreed a fee but will Bullard want to go to Hull? they have a better chance of staying up than we have.
January 22, 200917 yr they have a better chance of staying up than we have. to be fair, that wasn't the question he was asking.
January 22, 200917 yr Author they have a better chance of staying up than we have. Do you really think so? I'd say Hull, having suffered 5 losses and a draw from their last 6 games, are pretty much in freefall. The 13 points away from the relative safety of 40 points seem an awful long way off. And they still have 4 of the top 5 to play.
January 22, 200917 yr Ey? The two clubs have agreed a fee, there's no mention of them agreeing anything with the player (yet!). Furthermore, it's reported that we didn't agree a fee so didn't get to the talking to the player stage nevermind offering contracts. Spot on. They might have agreed a fee with Fulham but there's no mention of personal terms being agreed. I'll be surprised if he goes there. If Megson really wants him I reckon we'll get him.
January 22, 200917 yr Spot on. They might have agreed a fee with Fulham but there's no mention of personal terms being agreed. I'll be surprised if he goes there. If Megson really wants him I reckon we'll get him. I'm ready to be shot down, but I can't see it. We've been 'linked' with him time and time again but nowt happens. I don't think he wants to come to Bolton.
January 22, 200917 yr In fairness when Megson gets to speak to his transfer targets they do tend to sign, Cahill, Taylor and Steinsson all had other offers last January
January 23, 200917 yr I'm ready to be shot down, but I can't see it. We've been 'linked' with him time and time again but nowt happens.I don't think he wants to come to Bolton. As stated before, we haven't had chance to talk to the man due to Fulham not accepting our offer. I would love to know what the difference is between our offer and Hull's. Or maybe it's a case of January ebbing away and Fulham revising their valuation? If so, I hope we move back in.
January 23, 200917 yr I'd guess about ?2 million. Like the idea of him in our midfield, but as others have pointed out, he'll want serious weekly wedge well into his 'declining' years on top of a biggish fee. And he's got a track record with injury. Wouldn't be heartbroken if he went elsewhere.
January 23, 200917 yr To be honest if I was Bullard I would rather play under Browny than the inept Megson
