Megson was apparently trying to push them forward but the players didn't respond. If we had played the second half like the first half we would have won.

Well that tells its own story, they went out after half time and obvously took no notice of his instructions. Megson has issues with his players in my mind without a doubt!!

i'm not too despondant.

the first time we have played in 11 days and put in a very good performance (mainly 1st half) away from home against a good + confident blackburn side.

we have scored 2 goals away from home and looked dominant and in control in the 1st half and played some good stuff

the second half was always going to be a back to the walls job. we know sam allardyce is famous for his half times rants when things are going well and we knew that blackburn would come out in the second half and give it a right go. we defended in the main pretty well and we rode our luck at times with them missing a (ludicrous) penalty and nelson hitting the post.

i agree with many who thought the team shouldn't have been defending as deep as they were and everyone will slate megson for that. however megson was shouting on the sideline for them to move out and further up the pitch. however that is difficult when blackburn we attacking as if their lives depended on it. we have a few opportunities on the counter-attack in the second half tho

all in all i'd say a draw is a fair result and there are positives to take out. we controlled the first half, they controlled the second half. peygrenier played a full game for us which is good to see. mark davies came on midway through the second half which will get him acclimatised to playing. basham played a full game for us again and didn't look out of place. taylor and davies both scored which bring their goalscoring droughts to an end. nolan also came back and played ok.

most importantly we have stopped the rot. having lost the last 5 games it was important to get at least a point.

also 3 of our next 4 games are at home against beatable sides (spurs, w ham and newcastle). i'm not saying that we will but if we could get three wins out of the next 4 then that should be enough for us. spurs played well in midweek but they are missing quite a few players, particularly in defence with king out. they also have a lot of players who don't like the hustle and bustle that bolton play with. if we could rought them up a bit and play like we did in the first half then we should do ok on saturday.

I've tried backing megson, but tonights performance is the final straw. 2nd half we came out so defensive minded, obviously dont want us going all out for goals but to sit so deep for so long is suicide.

Absolute b#llocks!

FFS , we've got a point away from home, against a team that is below us, both Newcastle, Boro and Hull lost, so in a nutshell we are better off then when we started the evening, granted it could have been a lot better but most sane mined people would have taken a point before the game and stopped in the pub

Dont waste your breath (so to speak).

idiots will never be happy.

Imagine if we'd lost.

just got back, first half we looked confident wanted the ball full of running, whatever Megson said at half time i wish he hadent.

Really thought they were gonna win it.

Megson and Matty taylor appeared to be having a row while a Bolton player was recieving treatment.

Nolan adds new meaning to the word "anonymous". Muamba who has been our best player recently had to run for him and tackle for him. Poor tw@t is going to develop a hump back carrying "our talisman" around for the rest of the season. People quick to slag Megson but where was the leadership on the park 2nd half?. Who was he having a pop at when they were coming off at half time?

Just got back, i couldn't face an hour in the pub talking about it - i'm fookin gutted. first half was fine obviously, but you just knew blackburn couldn't play as bad second half, but even if we'd fookin tried to play with the same momentum as we'd had in the first half we'd have been ok. We invited pressure by sitting back, and there was no decent outlet even when we had the ball - why the f?ck he didn't put Gardner on god only knows. At the end of the day we were lucky to get a point.

I dont see how Nolan can just walk straight back into that team. He doesnt deserve to play at the moment, he was terrible tonight.

Agree with you there about muamba. Had to pick up the pieces time and time again for Nolan.

Makakula looked shattered after an hour and needed to come off. Taylor was anonymous second half.

35 mins and he was goosed. Taylor was brilliant first half - but as soon as Tugay came on our whole midfield never got a look in coz none of them wanted the ball or looked comfortable in possession. Hope Mark Davies steps up to the plate but if he doesnt we need to splash the cash. If we cant get Veloso get in for Richardson Meggo

Thats got to be one of the most inept ever, especially from 2-0 up at half time. I'm not a Megknocker, but by the f?ck that second half was a shite performance from our boys

Why? he's cack

Twas Matty Taylor - it started (I think) because Taylor just watched the cross come into the box just before the half time whistle

went and didn't close down. In his defence he did have 2 hillbillies to look after.

To the soft lads singing that Megson was a wanker at the end, did you not see that he was urging the defence out from

the touchline every time we cleared from corners, free kicks etc. I am not his biggest fan but will support him

while he is the manager - the singing imho was uncalled for.

Why? he's cack

Gets on the ball and comfortable in possession. Both attributes NONE of our present midfield (havent seen enough of Mark Davies) have. He's no world beater and cant open up defenses but he's better than what we've got

If we played any deeper in the second half, we'd have been holding a line at Blackburn train station.

First half was spot on. Second half was everything that's wrong with Megson. Bright spot - at least we didn't lose.

Our fitness is a disgrace and half of that team cannot kick straight or control the ball without 3 or 4 touches. Were we good in the 1st half or were they absolutly shocking?

Megson was, triple fact with ginger nuts on top, going ape trying to get the team to defend higher.

BSA fetched on Santa Cruz and Tugay and hammered up with 3 up front, we fetched on players who would struggle to get in a 3rd division team, and play with a midfieldwho look like they smoke 80 a day.

We were so comfortable in the first half and blew it in the second by inviting pressure. I was sat near blokes kicking off with each other when the anti Megson chants started.

Random thoughts after getting up at 4am to watch it live.

- First half tactics bang on. Get in amongst em and put yerself about in their penalty area. Caused confusion and we had em on the ropes. 5 mins into the second half I said to the missus - "We'll draw or lose this. He's gone 'what we have we hold' again". At half time I suggested that, for once, he may say get out and get at em again. Third goal kills em. Should have known better.

- Makalula looks like he'll be a reet handful when he's match fit.

- The new Davies looks like a nippy little fcuker. Needs to seetle into the Prem and realise you have to move the ball on quicker.

- Cahill/Puygrenier looks a far more stable and reliable centre back pairing than any other combination we can field.

- Our inexperience in midfield when we were under the pump showed badly. Basham and the new Davies looked lost for the last 15 minutes or so. Oh for Gavin McCann.

- Happy that the surrender monkeys claiming 'We'll get dicked at Blackburn' on here were proved wrong.

- A hunch we'll beat Spurs 2-1 on Saturday. The points will start to arrive.

- Gary Megson can't be a long term prospect for Bolton Wanderers.

-

The attitude to Megson was split on our trip home and continues to be on here.

Those willing to support the manager will have seen him screaming at the players to get out from very early on in the second half but on the other hand we continue to bring all 10 outfield players back to defend a corner, even when we have a short arse in Davies on the field.

Did we sit back, did Blackburn pin us back, did we play as shit in the 2nd half as they played in the 1st, should Megson have brought an attacking outlet on at 2-1, could we have put more pressure on Rovers in the second half.

One thing for sure, the Knobs who sang Megson is a wanker with 5 minutes to go are utter idiots and will drive this club to relegation with support like that!

Best post tonight and spot on.

Its not the end of the world but it feels like it.

Why we decided to sit so deep in the second half I will never know. We gave Tugay all the time in the world to find a pass instead of getting in his face like we were doing to their midfield in the first half.

Megson is going nowhere until the end of the season at least so calling him a wanker during the game isn't going to help.

But he is a wanker.

you really think that shouting for megson out is sending the club down there is only one person sendin this club down and that is megson and yatesy you want to call me a idiot to me face do you

Great first post mate. I can see we'll have many happy hours with you. Just waiting for Trafs customary tick, tock.

For the record - shouting/singing anything against Bolton Wanderers or any of its employees during a match is tantamount to treason. Only gives the opposition players and supporters more encouragement and is detrimental to our cause. It is, therefore, the action of a idiot.

mate i am not like that but never liked the guy and tonight was the final straw how much do you want to put up with him in charge and he is not doing a good job watched this club for 20 years so i am not a kid but when ever one can see what going on apart from the manager it a bit worrying

Tick tock only goes to persistent idiots with nothing constructive to add.

FY's got time yet!!

its the "idiots" who carry on defending Megson that worry me, did any of them actually go tonight?

I agree shouting wanker chants doesnt help, but people voice frustrations in different ways and calling them idiots helps nowt either!

I love and support my club and have for a lotta years but i just cannot see any progress under Megson no matter how hard i try.
