I thought he played out of his skin towards the end of last season!

you'll have to try harder than that. <_<

As we have said on here many a time, there was a difference to the team when Nolan was on the pitch and not. It had little / nothing to do with his playing ability and performance as a midfielder it seemed to be...well who knows - we have never properly put a finger on it.

One thing is wasn't though was his playing ability. You can count the good games he has had in the past 3 seasons on one hand that has had 2 fingers amputated!

Can we use Jeremy Beadles hand to count the half decent games as well?

Agree with many others on here, Newcastle big club etc was the same as sprouted by any other footballer who's joined them over the past few seasons.

Nolan's a legend in my book and I hope he does well for them, just not against us.

Nothing he says makes me thing he is anything but a really good bloke.

He deserves and should get a superb reaction from the fans.

And he was gutted to leave , curiously the club did not make any effort after mid-day on deadline day to sign anybody ,

so its a strange decision given the circumstances.

Agree he should get a warm reception , but we desperately need to nail the Mags.

That can be seen as much a +ve as a -ve.

If all our carefully selected targets have gone to ground and are not availale - why waste money on last minute signings just for the sake of it!

Fair comment..................but why sell Nobby just before the deadline with no sure replacement lined up ??

rank bad timing if you ask me especially as we are short on numbers as Gary Megson has been pointing out

Hadn't he already replaced Nolan before he sold him?

Keep your facts to yourself will you!

Apparently the prozone stats showed he wasn't contributing very much to the team this season.

Megson also knew the last manager to drop Nolan was immediately sacked.

I think he will do well at Newcastle, a new start and new challenge will see a return to something like the player he was

Hopefully, the one who has replaced him may turn out to be better than the player Nolan was at his peak. Too early to judge off a one match performance but he certainly looks promising. Tim Sherwood gave him some big compliments on Football Matters.

so you do think that we have enough strength in depth for the rest of the season? , a yes or no answer will suffice.

Yes or no.

maybe

Yes.

Will that suffice?

Yes.

Also KN would probably have another 5 yellow cards taking him to 15 and a 3? game ban at a possible crucial time.

Right, Kevin Nolan... Let's look at facts. Being a footballer isn't all sunshine and roses, you have to move your family round at the drop of a hat or leave your kids where they are and commute yourself, possibly only seeing your family a couple of times a week. It's well paid but sometimes not much fun at times.

Kevin Nolan has had it all... still living in his home town with the support of his and his wife's families, still able to go out without being mithered yet pulling top dollar wages. The lucky bastard! Now he has none of that, his form will dip (if that's possible) as that reality kicks in.

You could be right.

Alternatively, it might make him pull his socks up, realise how lucky he has been and knuckle down away from the family (because lets be honest he hasn't been the same player since the birth of his daughter) to become the player he was 2 or 3 seasons ago

Yes.

We have replaced Nolan with a much more effective type of player imo as well, whether he hits the heights Nolan did in his peak nobody can say for certain but if he keeps playing like he did on saturday i cant see how he wont.

You could be right.

I thought I was the only one who noticed his drop in form more-or-less coincided with the birth of his daughter. The first couple of years are the ones that keep you awake all night if you never got a bedtime routine going.

Personally, if my mega-bucks wage depended on me getting proper rest at night I'm pretty sure I could persuade the wife that, no rest amounts to no decent play. No decent play amounts to no decent wage, no decent wage amounts to her having to get off her doubtless very attractive arse and get a job herself.

You could be right.

also remember julian darby falling into that category,of losing form when a child is born and becomming a victim of the boo boys.

Take no pleasure in saying it...but firmly of the view that Kev will be playing Championship football next season :(

If it's at Newcastle, why take no pleasure in that thought?

won't be at Newcastle longer than 6 months. Stoke or somewhere as shit probably (if anywheres as shit as Stoke)
