I've lost count of the number of players who when joining Newcastle have said that within two years Newcastle will be challenging for honours.

in fact this time next year they be challenging for the championship with preston, cardiff and sheff utd.

i can't see him getting anything but a great reception. when he is announced clap etc. HOWEVER don't cheer him during the 90 minutes get behind OUR team.

Top lad Nolan, cannot see him ever playing in the Bolton shirt again though, would love him back at the club in some managerial/coaching position when he retires.

thought he was talking sense where he said

he is unlikely to say 'the fans of this club need to realise they are big in their own city and nowhere else. they have stupidly high expectations that actually hinder our chances of winning anything. most players come here for the night life not the football. the club is run by idiots they used to be rich idiots but are now fucked. i really wanted to stay at bolton, but things have gone wrong, if i come here and keep my head down for the rest of the season i might get a move back there when the toon army depart for the championship.'

Nolan is Bolton though and through. Being at one club, especially in this day and age, for over 10 years is very rare. Yes he has lost his form recently, but he was a great leader and captain, and you could see the difference in the team when he did not play. Anybody who's boo's him should be shot!

We really did see a difference on Saturday. Megson's only gone and bought a kid who looks as though he can play football. What the f?ck's that all about?
