With the signing on fee and 4 year contract errrr NO.

Not like he was going win out with us, except avoiding relegation.

I honestly don't care. He did well for us, he's gone, we move on.

I don't feel good that Nolan is having a bad time, he was proud to wear the white shirt, never gave less than 100% for bolton, the bad form he shown was down to his lack of physical ability, I seriously think his best days as a footballer are behind him, but I will never forget what he did for BWFC and the sheer joy he gave me in his better days.

I agree.

But I do feel very good at the minute about swapping him for ?3mil and Mark Davies.

Scored in both wins at Old Crapford, definately stuff to tell the grandkids, lost his way a bit after Sam left, but always 100% in the Glorious White shirt

On the nail there. Something that is a rarity in players playing for 'smaller clubs'.

I know a few off here now his old man. Whenever you spoke to him he always refered to Bolton as "us" or in a way that any off here would. It's no secret that they are fans of the scousers, but you have to respect the fact they adopted Bolton as their own.

As for his performance. I think the pressures of playing at St James are evident in most of there players and it is definately a bigger stage. His fitness has been in doubt for a couple of seasons though

Yep, Great bit of business. :yahoo:

Good player about 3 years ago, eventually started to believe all the hype Megson gave him and went downhill. He would have been a better player having to fight for his place.

Great servant for Bolton but sad that his career peaked at such a young age. The reason why well...

Getting married and having his first child was the start of the end for Nolan.

Let that be a lesson for the singletons on here!!

what about the hype Allardyce and Lee gave him?

Allardyce hardly shut up about Nolan and England

FFS have I got a stalker.

You quoting eveything I post today? :pardon:

He really isn't a creative midfielder to play in a 4-4-2.

His best days came for us when he played alongside campo/okocha/speed, who did the quality defending/passing. He was left to his strengths of bundling the ball in from 6-8 yards and throwing his weight around. When his confidence was up he used to score some belters too.

He wasn't good enough to play the role Megson had him playing.

I've recently watched the season DVDs from 04-07 and he was getting into some great positions and scoring loads of goals. Although I never brought into him being unfit, he definately looked leaner in those days too.

How many goals did he get from KD's knockdowns? Newcastle don't have that style of player. nor a Speed, Campo to do the thinking bit.

That article says what most of us with a ounce of reality have been saying for at least the last three years...

It does, and ?4m looks to be good business.

On the subject of Newcastle, 7,500 attend an open training session!!! Isnt it bad enough watching them once a week??

aye but most were happy to not see them lose

Indeed, a 2-2 draw against the cones was confidence building.

Shearer reckoned the cones' late equaliser was dubious though.
