What On Earth?

I went to ASDA today and brought back something called a Donor Kebab flavoured Pot Noodle. I had no idea such a thing existed, but an adventurous sole like me couldn't possibly not buy it. I've not eaten it yet because I'm quite apprehensive. I think it's going to be one of those experiences which is as enjoyable as it is revolting, like eating scabs.

Anyway, I'll let you know how I get on with it.

I saw the advert last week and was amused.

Not enough to buy one.

But amused all the same.

Can't blame you for being apprehensive really, if it tastes anything like the kebabs i've tasted in the past. :bad:

Talking of new things to try , has anyone tried the new crisps from the Walkers range?

Chilli and chocolate- revolting

Onion bhaji- not too bad

Cagun Squrrel - not tried them yet

Crispy duck and hoison - not tried them either

Builders breakfast - nice

Fish and chips- taste nothing at all like fish and chips, not nice

Why would anyone want chocolate flavoured crisps. Can they not just eat chocolate?

Seabrooks Ketchup or Prawn Cocktail will not be beaten even with the new packaging!

Well. Maggie. Have you eaten it yet?

Roast beef monster munch are brilliant in their own strange E number induced way.

Yes, and I'll be ringing NHS Direct in a minute. Compelling and foul in equal measure, quite extraordinary. It's not food. It ticks 'yes' on none of the 'are you a food' questionnaire boxes. To its eternal credit though, if you can operate a kettle you can cook one. It reminded me of this hot and sour soup we had in Afghanistan. That was basically red hot vinegar with bits of onion in and eating it was, I assure you, literally painful. But you couldn't stop, despite the harm you knew you were doing to yourself. Like heroin in that respect. Overall, I'd say they were not as nice as a Yates Greer pork pie, but nicer than a standard Gregg's meat and potato pasty. But as memorable an experience as, say, a parachute jump or being next door when a suicide bomber goes off.

And they should bring back Monster Munch the way God intended them to be. When I was young they were huge, you probably only got three in a bag. They were as big as a crumpet. Favourite crisps from my teenage years were probably T bone steak Roysters, plus all sorts of 10p crap. And these things called fish and chips which were like a crisp bag but were n fact little biscuity things.

They've never gone away!! My local does pickled onion and beef! It's always a 'Daddy or chips' decision.

They were loverly!

They changed the flavour, the old one hurt your mouth.

Anyone remember Curry flavoured Ringos? Mmm, top crisps in jeep's youth!!

I remember Monster Munch used to have vice-like qualities on your tongue. You inserted said tongue into hole and every bit of moisture in your mouth leapt onto the Monster Munch, rendering your tongue immobile until you were able to bite the crispy beast in half, thereby releasing your tongue from the death-grip.

Great shout! Brannigans ham and mustard are good as well - can blister your tongue by the end of a pack!

I bought one of those kebab pot noodles but I've no idea what it tastes like as evertime I boil a kettle I pour the steaming hot water over my testicles

I'm addicted to Pickled Onion Monster Munch. They sting my tongue and make my eyes water, but in a good way. I also regularly eat 3 or 4 packets of pickled onion Space Raiders in one sitting because they're only 20p a pack.

I kid you not but my Doris blacked out after consuming a bag of monster munch sat up in bed. I thought she had just dropped off to sleep. She woke up in the morning and couldn't walk because of dizzy spells and had the mother of all headaches. Was off work for 3 days.

Little miss big girl was born in 1994, up to then we had enjoyed eating frequent Chinese takeaways and trips to china town. A few months after the birth we resumed our nights out but the wife would always end up completely out of it half way through a meal or towards the end of the night. We just thought it was too much wine but weeks later we had a take out and she fell off the dining room chair after polishing off some chicken wings in oyster sauce. We worked out then it was an allergic reaction to Chinese food and further research told us it was MSG mono sodium glutamate flavour enhancer E621. Sure enough as time went on wifey suffered a quite a few of these attacks after innocently consuming stuff that contained it. Most crisps, certain soups, Chinese and Japanese foods. Best one was her puking up in probably the poshest steak house in Orlando. (we found out later the steaks are aged by being rubbed with MSG)

As 14 years have passed since little miss big girl was born she became more and more sensitised to the stuff and other sodium based complexes. Last year I managed to poison her at a BBQ by covering a spit roast with those Schwartz meat flavour powders.

Monster munch has more MSG in it than any other snack, pot noodles are not far behind.

Strange how havin babies can change the chemistry of a woman :D

Frazzles, Roast Beef Monster Munch or Cheese and Onion Square crisps for me.

T-Bone steak Roysters.....!!!!

Salt n Vinegar Kettle Crisp.

Hmmmm!

I sampled a bag of Walkers Caramelised Onion and Balsamic Vineger crisp over the weekend and they were belting :good: I have not had a pot noodle for years but when I did they were always best poured into a bowl for some reason :good:

And it's horrendous. As Charlie Brooker describes it; "it tasted like someone burping egg at you through a jockstrap."
