Happy with the signing, :good:

Fandabidosi!

And also done nice and quietly! Fair play to the club! :good:

Great news.

Nice one to Megson and the club :drinks:

nice to see that he geniunely wants to come. also nice to see that matty taylor and andy o'brien encouraged him to come speaking highly of the manager, club + set up

For all the rumours that many backroom staff are not keen on megson, it seems that is not the case with the players, in todays crazy market place to get a good experienced premier league pro on a free is a great deal for BWFC, well done to Megson and the club for pulling this one off despite strong competition from other clubs.

I agree great bit of business, someone that will get in the starting 11 rather than a squad player, roll on the next signing =D>

Great signing for the whites. :drinks:

Experienced and solid player. :yahoo:

Quality CB and a quality striker next please :good:

Good signing on 2 counts

1. Less of Mccan

2. 1 step closer to an all davis & davies XI

A very good signing.

Very good signing well done to everyone at the club :good:

but it won't be long before some miserable fcukers on here start slagging him off

Quality player with bags of experience, with him and young davies coming through we will have a good passing midfield, things are looking up now, well done Megson.

I accept he's an experienced Prem player but is another non scoring midfielder what we need?

Maybe he will provide the openings for the other midfielders and strikers to score. And if he does then yes it's what we need.

Maybe he's not the last signing this summer. Don't all great teams have strength in depth?

Lad has just phoned from school. They've heard a rumor that we have signed Edgar Davids. Has he been misinformed by someone hearing about Davies or could there be any truth?

With Stevie Wonder in defence and Ray Charles on the wing. No thanks!

Course they do. I just think he's a bit samey to what we already have and would have been more optimistic if the priorty areas had been adressed first.

But early days I suppose.

Russell, smile and the world smiles with you! Be a devil & give it a go! :D

Very hard that for one of life's grumpy old men, but just for you :yahoo:

Good for Muamba this signing imo. Having players like Davis who want the ball and can move at a decent pace will help him a lot.

We got 15 goals from midfield last season which isnt too shabby imo. We need some midfielders who can create chances for the strikers and other players which he will do imo. Just as an example lets say he replaces Mccann in midfield for us, surely he will score more & create more than him?

3.5m seem a bit of silly offer from us back in jan.

even more silly of them to refuse it.

Just a bit of a worry that the goals dried up like a nun's minge latter part of the season. We're a bit too reliant on Davo and Matty but I agree he could maybe create a bit more.

They obvikously didn't want to sell a first team regular to a "relegation rival" as we were at the time, so it makes perfect sense from Portsmouths side really. If Megson really want's the player, and thought he would improve the team, and thus stear us away from relegation, then it seems perfectly reasonable for us to make the offer as well.

I don't see the problem.

Still, it all turned out for the best, and we've saved a bit of cash
