There have been four players capped for Scotland since the war whilst with Bolton Wanderers. Can you name them?

Only two right so far. John Mcginlay and poor Colin Hendry (condolences on your loss).

NB I forgot to include the phrase since the war. I've no doubt that you are right with Donaldson and there are probably others.

And for everybody's information, I have seen all four play.

Paul Ritchie is correct. He is the one we all forget about.

I posted on this thread yesterday but it hasn't appeared yet. This is very frustrating.

The Scotland match against France in which Johnston played was on the 29th March, 2000 - two days later we played a match - can you guess which it was from just these few lines? -

"Deano! Deano!" the fans chanted in deafening encouragement. They got just what they wanted seconds later when Gudjohnsen, always looking to produce something special, rounded James and unselfishly laid the ball back. For a split second Wanderers were convinced they'd done it. They were in the final on May 20.

All Holdsworth had to do was stroke the ball firmly and the glory was his!

As the shot flew over from 10 yards the club's record signing held his head in his hands. He knew the chance was gone. Some 15 minutes later it was all over.

Yes it was that match!!!

Anyway Johnston was with us from the 27th January, 2000 to the 18th May, 2000 - so he was capped for Scotland whilst he played for Bolton.

Right so it appears that there are five players capped for Scotland since the war whilst with Bolton. I must admit Johnston's international selection completely passed me by.
