Wanderers V Stoke

Sorry - starting with 4-5-1 at home to Stoke,

There's me thinking that we have played 4-5-1 for the last 10 years since Allardyce took over, except for Little Sammy's 6 games.

What do you want Champagne football in the fizzy pop league?

Yes brum were relagated the season he took over , but remember he took over at the end of november with brum rooted , following season promotion at first time of asking and a steady start to this season . Playing much better football than our dross

Megson took over with us rooted to the Bottom and then kept us up and improved the league postion the year after, so with that in mind he most be a better option the McLesh... just say like

Oh and for the attcking football they've on scored 3 goal in 6 games as we've scored 6 in 5 ...sorry for using facts again :pardon:

I support my club, but i do not support this manager or the football we play.

Does anyone find themselves nodding there head in disappointment every time a long ball or a hesitated clearance is made by a Bolton player, feeling sorry for yourself, looking up to the sky silently thinking this is repetitive rubbish that no team in the the 'top league in the world' should be playing.

If Megson is gonna be to scared to play attacking football or even play a good formation against Stoke, what are we expected to hope for the remainder of the season

Yes the football under Sam was not pretty but nothing as bad as this. Remember okocha's 1st season, that was the most entertaining games i've seen, yes we lost quite often and could of got relegated but at least we could go home knowing we had seen some attacking football and some magic. Now all we see is long ball after long ball, set pieces and grafters and defenders who smack it every bleeding touch.

Yes i might be having to high expectations, yes i might be asking for to much, but BWFC is what i talk about most ,the club i've grown up to support, but i will not let this get in the way and pretend everything is fine. More negatives than positves.

We finished last season on 41 points , the season before then we somehow survived, mainly due to a late run of results and other teams messing up, before the Pompey win we hadn't won a game of football for over a quarter of a season.

4 points from the games we have had , on paper is not good enough, like i said before if we don't beat Birmingham and with the October games coming up , we will be just like what we had when Sammy Lee got sacked.

Megson is never going to change and our style will never change. People have already made up there minds, Megson will have to make Bolton go on a massive unbeaten run or even win a cup to get them on his side[maybe im exagerrating] , Some fans chant Ginger Mourinho , some fans get excited when we win a throw in. For me i go to the game because it's what iv'e been doing since my dad took me when i was a kid, do i get the same excitement for getting up and watching them, i dunno, sometimes i do but mostly it's obvious the way we are gonna play and i see better at sunday league.

We are labelled as' little old Bolton' and probly over achieved with the likes of UEFA Cup football and good end of season finishes in the past , but surely this can't get in the way of the fact that at this present time we play the most atrocious football and are one of the most negative teams in the game.

I can't understand why there has been no change or even effort to make things better, we spent our money on players we didn't need or players that haven't really improved the 1st team or even play[enough to make a difference on a time average] /start the good players we have signed.

Some will hate my views, i would like these people's opinions because im completely stuck for any positives at the moment.

No,i just find myself getting more and more behind OUR team :good:

Been watching Wanderers since '76 and after reading WW for several years now feel compelled to write for the first time. This thread sums up perfectly where Megson has taken the club in the last 2 years - for sure we may still be hanging on to Premership status but that counts for nothing given the "civil war" he has managed to create. I've never known/seen/heard any club that is now in our position. Loyal supporters are torn between blind eternal faith for the club and the desire for short-term failure to trigger a change of manager. Its an absolute tragedy to see the position we are now in. Whichever side of the divide we're at there surely can be only one place this will end. Megson has to go sooner or later regardless of results on the pitch - these alone can no longer bring unity. The wounds between club and the majority of fans cannot be healed until this happens. Whether this means relegation or not is no longer the point. The one thing I've always treasured about following the whites has been the passion and unity - these have now gone but I'm sure can and will soon return when he goes. His interviews on SSN and BBC were nothing short of an absolute disgrace.

And no, I'm not a fickle fan - Darlington home and Orient/Southend Boxing Day trips are on the CV.

Right, here we go. I was disappointed when we equalised.

That makes me feel sick to say it, but it's how I felt.

When we were in Division 4 I felt better than this, because I felt part of something. Now I don't give a rats ass, and it's crippling me to not care.

A part if my life is gone, but it will come back when he goes.

Not sure why Muamba went off at HT and McCann stayed on!

Not sure why Muamba went off at HT and McCann stayed on!

Because mccann was playin better than muamba?

Because mccann is mentally stronger than muamba?

I just don't see the point of view that folk want us to lose andvwere dissapointed we scored. If that wouldve been a last minute pen against man u folk would be bouncing. Yes it were shite but we got summat out the game. For those wanting to get rid do you think anyone would want to come to us when the outside world looking in think we are a set of ungrateful fans for booing a guy who has done his job. IMO he ain't the right fella to manage us but I want us to win as many as we can

Did or did he not take Brum down

But then again Megson took West Brom down from the premiership and Forest down from the championship...

But just to be clear i do NOT want Mcleish to become our next manager if Megson went...

Better than the first half, but not a good performance by any means... really poor defending for the Stoke goal...

We played ok second half. I was amazed Gardner didn't start and Klasnic looks to be a good footballer who will help with our simple passing game up top.

We did at least try to keep it on the deck second half, it was criminal not to do that in first half against their 4 big centre backs.

Wasn't entirely pleased with the way Jussi and Cahill launched into Ricketts for the goal as it was great play by Kitson imo.

My view if we'd played the whole of the game as we did after conceding with the same personnel a few fans would be happier tonight.

Utter fucking bollocks, Muamba was the only player getting stuck in. Most of our players stood off so much today it was embarrassing. Mccann and Taylor today were absolutley shocking.

Sorry mr j. but wot a load of bollox. That is the worst performance i have seen for donkeys. They was shit and we were worse. stop defending the indefensable. Dont agree with the booing of players but nobody tell me that we went out to win that game. Megson does not help himself with the way he sets us up to play.. fuckin annoyed.......

Excellent post :good:

To be fair to Megson, it's not just him that has created the civil war. There's a fair few 'supporters' who should take a look at themselves, for example the dickheads who were demonstrating against him before we had even kicked as ball with him as manager. Having said that, I find myself edging towards your view that for the sake of unity he needs to go. It's not fair on him, and I've no real problem with him personally, but we can't carry on like this.

was refreshing to see gardner on and for the first time in a long time, it was a nice change to see a bolton player actually show some pace and take on players with a bit of skill, also was good to see klasnic and play with 2 up front

what fucked me off the most though was, we scored a penalty, then 5 minutes injury time went up and we sat back and tried to defend a draw, a fuckin draw at home against a shit team who we made look superior today

Excellent first post. Yes, he has to go for the reasons stated. Detest the thought of letting the bedsheet tossers win though.

Don't see that McLeish would bring anything different except maybe a rapport with the fans. What's Alan Curbishley doing these days?

Are you fishing squidge? It was the most stonewall, nailed on,deffo penalty i've seen this season. If it had been outside a nightclub, and caught on cctv the "offender" would have been prosecuted ffs.

Sheite game though, the dross is grinding me down.

Sorry wrongly worded

Meant to say a scrappy goal (ie gained from a pen than open play)

lets get george graham

I'm sure owen coyle would be tempted if I had a word

Also I'll have a word with Coleman at coventry, he a good manager

Actually I'd even take Warnock

Thought he was making good points myself.

Gardener starting is the only selection i'd have asked for today, and Klasnic did show promise.

Stoke edged it today, fair play to 'em.

Reading some of the posts on here, you'd think we were a big club....we are'nt so get over it.

Getting rid of Megson won't bring the stayaways back either.

Just watched the game, people saying thats the worst game they've seen want to have a look at themselevs, got to admit it was not the best but in the last 40 years of Watching Bolton it would not come in the top 25 of shit games i've had the misfortune to be witness too.

Looked a lot better after the changes at h/t

Felt very sad that the comentaters from 25 min on kept on about the booing

Why boo at 0-0 but not when we go 1 down was every one saving it for full time , fans booing when we are passing the ball about then boo when they hoff it open front, people make up your fucking mines

Stone wall pen and if that had been outside the area he would have been lucky to stay on the pitch, caught him with the studs right on the knee.

I think the press are building up this booing shit too much

I'm in the East Upper and didn't hear any of the booing mentioned on this thread.

I realise there's a divide that may be irreconcilable, but know for a fact that a decent run will turn it around.

Megson will be gone in the next few weeks, and to my mind I can think of no better young up and coming manager than Darren Ferguson.

I honestly think he will be a top manager in a few years.I would back him all the way,and he would deffo keep us up this season. Why not he is certainly better than what we currently in situ with a modicum of personality, and Peterborough play with a lot of class and style.

I agree but it's too late for him now, he has run out of easy matches.4 points from an easy start is gash.

He has no chance of going on a winning run with Man Utd away and Chelsea at home in the next 5 .This was his last chance,he fucked it up.

It's only a matter of time now. Those blaming the bedsheet brigade for his sacking are talking crap. Its his poor performances and results that will get him sacked.

They should do the right thing and sack him tomorrow, hopefully there won't be a miserable atmosphere with him managing at the Tottenham home game.

Our performances agaisnt Sunderland and Stoke were a disgrace compared to how Burnley are approaching their home games on a smaller budget.

Would you though? I reckon if he went on a 5 game losing streak you'd be soon calling for him to be sacked...

And i wouldnt want him anyway...
