November 8, 200916 yr apologies snowball, i didnt mean to seem arrogant. i guess i was just pissed of at the performance like everyone else. but after watching the game back, i do still believe davies was as poor as any other players. At the very least, as captain, he should be leading the line even when playing poorly. hopefully youve now seen the game, and seen how poor he was. like i said though he was not alone. the number of times he loses the ball, is criminal. like any other player, i guess youve gotta weigh up his good attributes with his bad and decide whether the team benefits or not. yestererday it most certainly did not. No problem Homer. Guess we were both pissed off with that result/performance. I personally don't think Davies needs to be rested, I would prefer us to play two up front, Davies and either Klasnic or Elmander v Jackburn.
November 8, 200916 yr HBAHT Seriously though I don't mind getting beaten by a better side however Knight for one should have paid for a ticket because he spent most of the game just watching. For the first goal, Knight was closer to Jussi than Young yet didn't react when Jussi parried the ball. Same for the penalty, why did the Bolton defence not run towards the goal when the penalty was taken thereby anticipating the two rebounds. Cahil had another poor game but at least he made up for his mistake by being the assist for Elmander. I don't think a deflected left foot shot that hit the post really makes up for the fact that cahill was shite. Knight had a poor game but cahill was by far worse. The second and the third goals were cahill's fault for me. Knight may have got turned on the third but cahill had chances to clear it. Jussi had a good game but he should have pushed carew's header further away from goal for the first. whoever the person is who was having a go at robinson clearly didn't watch the game because he was the only other player who played close to decent. Milner didn't get anything out of him and he made some good tackles. I don't particularly like him or rate him but don't make him your token scapegoat. there were other far more deserving culprits of criticism against villa.

November 9, 200916 yr thing is, cahill will learn from it and improve, will knight? You don't know that he will improve, that's pure speculation.
November 9, 200916 yr Zat Knight is a calamity because he cannot read the game in front of him. His positional sense is apalling. I think Danny Shittu suffers from similar problems although I would have him in the back 4 over Knight because he is better in the air. Cahil had a bad day at the office. His mistakes were costly and they must not become a feature of his game. I think the lad does read the game well but would benefit at this stage of his career from playing alongside someone with an experienced head. Reo Koker ran the show for Villa in midfield and highlighted how much we are short of a midfield player who can put his foot on the ball, pass to feet and play it simple. I thought Taylor was non existent all afternoon and I have no idea where Gardner was supposed to be playing. Decent atmosphere in the away section all things considered. The Villa fans were absolutely awful!

Yes - IMO the 2 players to come out of the game with any credit were Robinson & Muamba , who at least put up a fight.

The Villa fans were absolutely awful! I was in the Villa end top tier the stand facing and to be honest you could hardly hear the Bolton fans - a couple of occasions they seem to make some noise but in the main they were quiet and possibly there was only about 400 there. Villa made quite a bit of noise. Its funny when I have been in the away end there for the previous two visits you could not hear Villa and I thought we were noisy. Yes - IMO the 2 players to come out of the game with any credit were Robinson & Muamba , who at least put up a fight. The first half Robinson was awful and they crossed into our area a will without a challenge from him. He looks like a carthorse and is compared to most premiership players but I do agree he did well in the second half. Taylor has been poor for weeks now and Gardner is being played out of position. Muamba always puts in a shift. Blackburn game is crucial and we need to get playing as a team and defending with conviction or we could be doomed. We have proved that the spirit is there and we can deliver but the confidence has gone with these thumpings. Come on you white men Edited November 9, 200916 yr by Traf
November 9, 200916 yr Not seen any of the "highlights" from Saturday as i've been away,Elmander's goal? 30 yard into the top corner was it? Oh and Traf thanks for the updates, you swine, ruined my day well untill ale kicked in
November 11, 200916 yr Must be a popular score line this week, see the Youth got stuffed by the same score and only a late 6th last week prevented the reserves from starting the ball rolling!
In here please.
