December 14, 200916 yr been slagging us off ,saying there was no atmosphere on sat. how demotivating it must be for the players. what brilliant support newcastle ,sunderland and stoke have. he was also saying us,wigan, fulham had crap away support as well. got panned by loads of fans of other clubs as well as mark saggers. he's got a point though
December 14, 200916 yr We've been though this before. He's playing on TalkSport & to be honest, he's quite good at it. The Newcastle thing is presumably a joke aimed at those silly Geordie's expense, as we all know they're complete tools. He doesn't actually dislike us or the club, but yes, he does have a very valid point.
December 14, 200916 yr ring up say you agree, you find it dead frustrating, in fact so frustrating whne you get home you knock fuck out of your missus....
December 14, 200916 yr stanley is very good at what he does in fact, hes the one ex player on that station with any broadcasting ability
December 14, 200916 yr ring up say you agree, you find it dead frustrating, in fact so frustrating whne you get home you knock fuck out of your missus.... well, its the middle of december, so im ready to award that 'laugh out fcuking loud post of the year'
December 14, 200916 yr I think he's right. Someone else said all football fans are like that. Doesn't look like that to me.

Easy for millionaires to say.
December 14, 200916 yr one of my fondest moments, and i'm not a violent person, was when andy todd smacked collymore full in the chops at the reebok. I think he was playing for valla then. That said, he is a good broacaster and quite an eloquent man
December 14, 200916 yr That said, he is a good broacaster and quite an eloquent man The Lord's my shepherd...
December 15, 200916 yr in terms of atmosphere, we are no where near the worst. i think 70% of prem teams are equally bad at their home ground.
December 15, 200916 yr been slagging us off ,saying there was no atmosphere on sat. how demotivating it must be for the players. what brilliant support newcastle ,sunderland and stoke have. he was also saying us,wigan, fulham had crap away support as well. got panned by loads of fans of other clubs as well as mark saggers. he's got a point though Our fans are'nt much different from any other its just there are fewer of us & our hard core support is quite small in comparison to most clubs in the Prem with the obvious exceptions of the above named teams plus a couple more . Dont forget in the glorious 1980's we averaged lower than 5000 for a good few years .Our fans are fickle just like the majority of football fans many of the 'disappeared ' resurfaced when we enjoyed relative sucess they are now predictably deserting again . The perception of a sinking ship doesnt generally entice people on board even if you do give them a flag & a whistle Stoke as an example were playing championship football in front of 12/13000 fans & delilah was very much conspicuous by her absence only a couple of seasons ago give them six or seven years in the Prem & their crowd will shrink by a 4/5000 simply because the novelty will wear off As for the atmosphere well that can usually be generated by free flowing attacking footbal (not the opposition) something that has been lacking for quite a while now & not just under the present regime . Stan the man has got a point but if he spent more time watching our team at home he might not be as quick to shoot from his lip or should I say thick lip as Andy Todd would confirm.
December 15, 200916 yr You only ever get Spurs, Arsenal, West Ham and Liverpool fans ringing up that show. He is doing his bit to get all the others on the line.....and its working.
December 15, 200916 yr Collymore has a point. The atmosphere was average on Sat. There are a number of reasons as to why this was the case and whilst we may not like what he says the guys got a point. However we are certainly no worse than a lot of other clubs, and are often better than a fair few. As for our away support, again he has a point in terms of numbers. There are a variety of reasons for this, but on occasions it has been disappointing. I imagine a lot of other clubs view Boltons support like I view that of Fulhams. The difference is on our day Boltons support can be some of the best with brilliant banter, and loads of singing. Not happened at too many of the away days I have been on this year but maybe I have just chosen poorly (Hull and Villa)!
December 15, 200916 yr in fact, hes the one ex player on that station with any broadcasting ability I agree, I actually quite like listening to him. He can form an argument very well, and often shoots the callers down in flames. I actually listened to some of the show yesterday, and he wasn't just slagging Bolton off, he was having a pop at various clubs, and saying that as a rule, the Northern teams generally have the best support. One of his points was how can Fulham get crowds of 25K on a saturday, but then only ever take 200~300 fans to away games, yet a team like Carlisle will onloy get 6000~8000 people at home games and still manage to take 1000 to Cheltenham away

December 15, 200916 yr might be a wife beater but he is far from a bell end. quite talented pundit. having listened to talksport for the last 10 years it has its good, bad and mediocre presenters scattered about the station, however i would prefer it anyday to the smug pc presentation of 5 live any day of the week. As for collymore he has defended bolton on far more occasions than he has attacked us. lately he has begun to become more controversial to get more fans to ring up, a little shallow but at least he never sits on the fence.
December 15, 200916 yr Author but at least he never sits on the fence. unless he's watching people in the car park.

I packed up going to away games after the everton game last season, where we were awful only to be told on here by some tosser that my comments were a knee jerk reaction having said that am going to burnley and debating on wigan
December 16, 200916 yr everytime i see him he always seems to get around to something about bolton hes a cock

Even with 900ish at Fulham the fans were good. Hull was strange and probably the 2nd half at Wolves were stuff turned sour but apart from that the away support is in good shape (atmosphere wise)

Tranmere wasnt much better... Birmingham was decent as was Pompey... Villa was depressing as usual...
