jules_darby Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Gut feeling says the same and this has all been an exercise to get more money. I'd not yet rule out them appealing to his sense of loyalty and/or giving him a cracking counter offer - after all having the Manager that (very unexpectedly) got you promoted dislodged half way through the following season when you have the chance to stay up could be alot more costly than a bit of a payrise However I don't think Coyle's using us as leverage...he may just decide to stay
M G WHITES Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 I have a gut feeling that he ain't coming....no idea what that is based on, I hope to be proved wrong I hope you right
Rembrandt Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Gut feeling says the same and this has all been an exercise to get more money. Feeling the same myself, but putting it down to nerves, It's certainly not cut & dried yet. If not OC, back to the beginning.
birch-chorley Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 He will be at the Reebok tomorrow i am sure. That Burnley messageboard has been great viewing, the best bit was when Coyle was first linked, one guy was boasting how he had made fortunes off Celtic fans last time Coyle was linked and he was boasting about making a killing off us as well. He will feel double shit when he loses Owen Coyle and a load of dough! They are currently debating weather Slaven Billic would go to Burnley, i was thinking of putting them out of their misery but fuck em! Im sure Walter Zenga would be interested.

Give his agent a buzz again
Dan.m Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Or just sent Coyle a text message with a link to that Burnley forum!
Dan.m Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Bolton and Burnley agree compensation according to SSN.
John Thomas Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Bloke off North West Tonight, been speaking to Kilby on and off all day, and Coyle is meeting Kilby and and other board member at a house shortly. Apparently they did this to persuade him not to go to Celtic. Could go either way
BWFCOLINH58 Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 (edited) he"ll be coming,he"ll be coming,he"ll be coming down the road he will cross the hill cos he loves the wanderers still he"ll be coming down the road Edited January 4, 2010 by BWFCOLINH58

Casino Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 compensation sorted now. I presume deal done then. would it not make sense to agree compo first?
no balls Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 would it not make sense to agree compo first? Sense & football? Now who's being silly?
Happy Wanderer Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 You can still get 1/8 on skybet if you want to make a small quick buck Agreed compo between the two clubs don't mean he has agreed personal terms and put pen to paper (yet).
Felgate Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 This on SS website says we've agreed to pay ?3.6m compo!! Can't believe that. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_5831868,00.html

bwfcol Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Compo agreed means that IF Coyle wants to go then he can, it's all in his hands
Felgate Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Like I said, agreeing compo doesn't mean he has or will sign for us. Absolutely agree. My point was that, if this is true and we have paid ?3.6m in compensation, that is an enormous figure to pay for any manager, let alone one from Burnley.
