That second half performance against a relegated team who would shy out of any 50/50 due to a pending cup final was arse - and I don't care if it was a end of season nothing to play for match.

  • I firmly believe that coyle is no better than megson. The only improvement is fans relationship with the manager.   But continued shit results and that wil change. I hope not but it's inevitable.

  • You cant compare two different 18 game spells in the season as the fixtures are different so its not a fair comparison. You cant compare Coyle to Megson yet because Megson spent millions and spunked ?

Not forgetting money saved in losing those 3 from the wage bill as well as Campo, Speed and Stelios.   Eddie also financed these deals with a percentage cut of any future fee going back to him.

are you not one of these fans?

what's your take on it?

stop putting words in other people's mouths or assuming you know what everyone else will think/do in scenarios that haven't, won't or have not yet occured

one of which fans?

one of which fans?

when you say

"fair point.

but do you think the fans will see it that way in 12 months time, if it hasnt worked as expected.

my guess is no. "

you're one of them aren't you?

should i have said, 'certain fans'?

i wont be one of those 'certain fans' as i (imo) have realistic expectations.

again

which certain fans? are you talking about the fans who wanted megson out? all of those fans? the ones who were vocal? how many groups of fans do we have?

I know who you mean but there's a fair few on here who seem to find it easier to decide what other fans want and how they'll react rather saying what they expect/want, just so they don't have to be seen as moaning themselves

i.e. you know that the 2nd half was w?nk on saturday, but rather than say the players were sh?te or the manager was sh?te, we just hear "had that come under megson's leadership..."

certain fans are as bad as others

1 - optimism and it's still there in abundance.

2 - I hope he gets ?39m to spend like Megson did because I for one am sure he'd mould a far better squad than he did with that sort of money.

3 - He's largely regarded as one of the brightest young managers in the game

1 - have you watched us recently?

2 - well if he sells cahill, lee and muamba (anelka, diouf, nolan) first, he'll need that 40 million

3 - is he...who by?

3 - is he...who by?

virtually every journo / fan etc who thought Bolton was a sideways step when he jumped ship

you can't have forgotten already, it was less than 5 months ago and non bolton fans were rather vocal about this

oh and our chairman thinks he quite good as well

'every journo' thinks boltons fans are wankers for hounding megson

Saturday was another dogshit performance at the end of a long and crap season.

Irrespective of the manager, league position or indeed the level of play, to draw at home having been 2 - 0 up to an already relegated side rooted to the bottom of the league is utter shit!!

By ensuring survival Coyle has bought himself the time to rebuild with Bolton as an established Premiership side. I certainly feel a greater sense of optimism with Coyle at the helm than I did with Megson but I accept at the moment this has more to do with personality than any real substance. There is certainly work to be done over summer, but this season for me cant end soon enough!!

and don't forget, both managers gave us great cup runs!!!!!!

if he is given ?20m more to spend than he has to bring in fair enough.

megson replaced anelka with elamnder....

nolan with muamba.....

diouf with dogeater....

can you see what his mistake was ?

just tell us what you think instead of what you think others wouldve thought, it makes for a far more interesting debate

ermm, you're mistaking what i said for something else

i suggest you read it again

would it be failing to sign a world class goalscorer?

would it be failing to sign a world class goalscorer?

nearly.....if he had he would have been brilliant...

if he spent ?3m on elmander and ?5m on another he would have been ok

?8m on elmander was the correct answer but you knew that.

what point are you trying to make, it might be better to just say what you think rather than cryptic one liners.

do you think we would be better with megson than coyle ?

do you think we better with coyle than megson ?

now we have stayed up do youu think next season is a more exciting prospect with oc than it would have been with gm ?

no

yes

no

I don't believe one of your answers

I think you're being difficult

Can you guess which one it is

i'd guess it's the third one

i see nowt to suggest theres a brave new world around the corner

not under megson, not under coyle, not under jose mourinho

i think i've just accepted theres nowt down for us in this league

so no, i'm not excited

I think sometimes we all feel like that

But I thonk a new season under OC is interesting then if not exciting...

The only things that have motivated me to go all this season are:

I was going anyway to take my kids.

I paid for a Season Ticket.

Nothing on the pitch under either Megson or Coyle have actually motivated me to attend. I really do hope this all changes next season because I've been pretty non-plussed this season.

so are you renewing your ticket for the kids? ot not bothering?

i am renewing because i want to, although at times this season i gone out of duty rather than anything else.

weirdo.

i think we're better off cos i'll be able to get some shut eye instead of listening to 'megson this, megson that'

and then spend all week going about how OC aint that much better than GM although you do not mean it......

you still working over here btw ?

no

yes

no

Did you go to West Ham or Stoke Away?

If you did I am baffled as to why you wouldn't be more excited. While there are obvious improvements which Coyle will be looking to improve on, the feeling of excitement, camaraderie, belief and overall positiveness was something I haven't felt for a good few years.

Look forwards with some hope for God's sake not backwards. I am not saying Coyle is the answer to everything and that we don't have our problems, but surely most BWFC fans can find things to be excited about and if you can't you really are stuck in a rut.

You cant compare two different 18 game spells in the season as the fixtures are different so its not a fair comparison. You cant compare Coyle to Megson yet because Megson spent millions and spunked ?8.2 million on a rocking horse whereas Coyle has spent nothing yet. When Coyle has spent similar funds to Megson his team will be better than Megsons team both results wise and enetertainment wise imo.
