Get It Sorted Owen

That second half performance against a relegated team who would shy out of any 50/50 due to a pending cup final was arse - and I don't care if it was a end of season nothing to play for match.

  • I firmly believe that coyle is no better than megson. The only improvement is fans relationship with the manager.   But continued shit results and that wil change. I hope not but it's inevitable.

  • You cant compare two different 18 game spells in the season as the fixtures are different so its not a fair comparison. You cant compare Coyle to Megson yet because Megson spent millions and spunked ?

Not forgetting money saved in losing those 3 from the wage bill as well as Campo, Speed and Stelios.   Eddie also financed these deals with a percentage cut of any future fee going back to him.

I just hope the opening fixtures next season are kind to us.

You might be happy with that today but I was not.

Two and a quarter million pounds in prize money to play for, the difference between finishing 14th and 17th. The points lost today could cost us dear in the summer.

Exactly. That lot might be thinking about their summer hols but I'm still paying to go down there to watch - I don't want to be paying more next season.

Get it sorted Owen????

We have gone 4 4 2 for the first time in ages, had the team out that everyone wants, its not his fault, what else can he do? it was the players today and for me is Cahill not better as a midfielder? he plays CH we get no clean sheets and he is top scorer, he gets injured an we get clean sheets, also Jussi, I think he is one of the best shot stoppers in the world but everything else is shocking, give habsi a chance

cahill was poor yesterday. At least if will get a rest over summer. Jussi is one of the best keepers around and cant understand why our own fans cant see that.

You might be happy with that today but I was not.

were in my reply did i say i was happy with yesterday.

i was pissed off as any bolton fan yesterday, the fact is , we've had lower points in the season than this. were in the prem next season, it could be worse.

Pompey changes formation and tactics at half time, went to 3 or even 4 upfront, this took midfield out of the game, OC did nothing to counter this.

Based on yesterday Avram Grant is a much better manager than OC, which is the benefit of expereince I suppose.

Just for the record -

This season Megson managed us for 18 games and got 18 points - and was sacked.

Yesterday's game was Coyle's 18th game in charge - he too has achieved just 18 points also!

This current crop of players has too many times and too often squandered a two goal lead. Matt Taylor was not interested in the slightest and he must be made aware of that from the powers that be. Davies also at times looked as if he cannot wait to get on that foreign beach and forget this season. Cahill tries to look the class player but as yet he is a distance from it. The team yesterday came out for the second half with the belief they had the game sewn up, alternately, Grant must be a master of football management.

the differnece being megson had time and money to build his team.

Wish I could dismiss it so lightly, Undies.

We still needed a result, in case Hull or Burnley showed signs of life (unlikely but not impossible before yesterday).

The players are (allegedly) playing for places at the club next season, to impress OC.

Cahill has/had (allegedly) faint hopes of making the World Cup squad by impressing Capello.

The players are being paid (hopefully) to make the fans happy, and they owe us big time for some decent hard-working performances.

Yesterday, mainly the second-half, was just yet one more shabby disinterested excuse for a professional team performance. Something we've seen far too often this season under both managers.

But, yes, survival is a good achievement despite all that.

And so it starts again, Survival secured and now he has time to bring in players that will play the way he wants instead of trying to change players that are set in there ways.

Looking forward to a good season next season and can't wait to see who he brings in over the summer.

In Megson's 18 we played Hull twice.

In Coyle's 18 we played Arsenal twice.

Can't compare for many reasons.

19 actually.

Fulham, Spurs, Wigan & Pompey - 1 each 4

Burnley, Wolves, West ham, wigan & Stoke - 3 each = 15

Total = 19

I'd say if you're going to try and use facts to make a point, use them correctly.

Were we not in the bottom 3 when Megson was sacked?

I found Owens decision to take off our 3 biggest threats- Klasnic,Weiss, and Wilshire a bit baffling.

Was it just a sarcastic dig then? Them that know me know that I only 'moan' ,as you put it, when there is something to moan about. On the whole I am positive and get behind the team and managment when they need it most. If you are happy with below par performances from OC and the players because we seem safe in the Premiership then fine, I am not.

Megson was still here for the Spurs league game. Coyle for the cup game.

Spurs home in league was much earlier in the season, when Megson was still here.

According to the league table after the Hull (H) gane, we had played 18, 18 points.

We drew 2-2 at home to Spurs on the 3rd October 2009 - the seventh Premiership game of the season.

Coyle was appointed Bolton manager in January 2010.

I think it is you that needs to get your facts right.

You should also note that I made no point what-so-ever, I merely stated a fact.

OK, in Janaury, if someone had said:

"Coyle will have you safe with 2 games to go"

What would have you said?

This is not Coyle's personnel, he's tightened up the defence. And yes, there are still issues and there have been poor performances along the way, but we are safe.

In summary, stop whinging.

Dismal yesterday and a great advert for not getting a season ticket, no passion from our players or fans, outsing by 150 Pompey fans. However we are safe and I feel more positive with Coyle at the helm although judging by the team changes at half time by grant and not countered by Coyle he has a lot too learn. Finally it cannot be proven but with the negativity around Megson I think we just might have gone down. For next season we need a marquee type of signing to waken the fans and club out of the slumber we seem to be in, I really hope that man is Eidur Gudjohnsenn.
