Jack Wilshire

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed he plans to keep Jack Wilshere at the club for the new season.

Wilsherespacer.gif enjoyed a successful loan spell at Bolton last season and was tipped to go out on another loan this term.

Bolton have expressed a keen interest in bringing the talented midfielder back to the Reebok Stadium, while a number of other Premier League sides are understood to be monitoring the 18-year-old's situation.

However, Wenger insists Wilshere will stay at Arsenalspacer.gif as he is set to figure in his plans for the upcoming campaign.

"I think I will keep him (this season)," Wenger said. "He can play on the flank or in the middle, deeper or wider as well. He should get a few games."

  • That's fair comment. Taylor has his limitations. But he delivers. Without him, we'd be in the Championship.  Wilshere can pick out a pretty pass or two, but most of the time it amounts to nothing.

we had him on loan from the MLS to the end of the season and then extended this for another year

in any event, at the moment he's only our player for another 12 months

I think if he as a good first 1/4 of the season he will have a contract extension offered to him

I'll put you down as one of the sheep who've been told what to think.

He's English and he comes from Arsenal so he must be good right?

How many goals and how many assists for us? I make it one of each.

His right foot is just for standing on.

Possession lost in midfield time and again when he's trying to be billy big bollocks.

I'm not saying he's shite, but he's ridiculously over rated.

And he won't make it at Arsenal.

Fuck me

fuck me

how do people see these things

start watching netball or something, football isnt for you.

whys now his goals and assists the main thing about him?

he was always involved, breaking up play, starting play, moving the ball about, running forward with and being positive

quite a part of why we rose from 3rd bottom to 14th under coyle

very good player and no mistake, we don't need him as such, but we'd be miles better with him

To be fair, it was Gonzo who put the You tube clip on.

I know, but I tend to lump the sheep together.

For all the whining and hand wringing no one has come out with a word to refute what I've said. Who'd have thought that a lightweight dwarf with next to no end product could get such adoration?

I've got a word to refute the drivel you have come out with but I'm too polite to give it here.

And on the other end some people dont want Matt Taylor who has a end product... you just cant win :nea:

IF we do play 4-4-2 (with lee, petrov and 2 of elmander, davies and klasnic) i'd much prefer a fit sean davis at the side of muamba

That puts a hell of a lot of pressure on the full backs, Cassie.

I'm not expecting Petrov to be up and down offering cover, and Chungy looks a bit dozy coming back.

We're not going to be offering too much going forward through the middle with Davis and Muamba in there, either.

Not that I've got any better suggestions of my own, mind.

Have to agree with THunter, though - I'm glad we're not going to see about the only player we had last season who could pass the ball and beat a man.

Baa.

enzo..thats why i wouldn't play 4-4-2

but if you do (with the 2 obvious choices for the wings) you have to have 'solid' centre midfielders

i think its a pity we don't have another good wide man for the right

might be nice to get chung in and around the front man

he looked a different player in the WC having players around him who could take the ball and pass it, unlike the wall that is superkev

4 5 1 a week on saturday as it stands please

Muamba in the middle with holden (or davis)

Petrov and lee wide (pacey and can beat men)

Play taylor behind davies. Hes a goal threat at least Taylor. Alternative option is play him wide and petrov behind davies.

I've always had the impression that Coyle likes Mark Davies.

If we're not having Wilshere, I wouldn't be surprised if he sees him as the next best thing.

Well thats an option to.

I think the options i wouldnt like to see in the 4 5 1 is all three of holden, davis and muamba playing, just two of the three please. Or cohen playing. Mark Davies or Petrov/Taylor in the hole is my prefered. Think its effectively a 4 2 3 1, with the people in the 3 part(petrov, lee, and if Taylor) capable of interchanging.

therefore youve 4 people going for the 2 midfield slots, muamba, holden, davis and cohen. M davies competition for the three further forward (tho only the central role)

Do not want to see 4 4 2 elmander with davies

Do not want to see 4 4 2 blake with davies

Do not want to see 4 5 1 blake playing as 5th midfielder.

I've always had the impression that Coyle likes Mark Davies.

I hope he does

Given a run of games I think M Davies could be excellent in a team that's knocking it about and trying to win games

Agreed.

Agreed.

I'll 3rd that. I've not seen any highlights apart from the goals last night. But both of them came from some very good trough balls from Mark Davies. I would much prefer to see him (similar to Wilshere but not quite as good) to Taylor as the more attacking of the 3 centre mids.

it was blake

not mark davies

it was blake

not mark davies

So it was, only saw the higlights briefly before I went out, was sure it was Davies from appearance and technique, but I've just checked and your right.

Sod it, get Blake there instead

Wilshere can pick out a pretty pass or two, but most of the time it amounts to nothing. One goal, one assist. Stats don't tell the whole story, but his lack of end product is damning.

From the People so almost certainly shite, but written by dingle Nixon.(though I doubt if he knows what's going on at Arsenal !)

"Bolton are desperate for him to return, but they have several rivals for his signature."

so do we have first refusal on him or not? you'd have thought nixon would've known

And then watch as he laughs in OC's face.

I reckon a loan would be what Wilshere wants, because even though he's got fantastic talent, I don't see him playing regular for Arsenal, if he comes back to Bolton for a season he will play all time, and he could get us along with other players like Lee, Klasnic and Petrov a very good finish, which could equal to more money[money for higher place] and then we can look to try and replace the gap he leaves.

I rate Holden and having a midfield of Lee..Muamba..Holden..Petrov is very good IMO, infact it's exciting, but with Wilshere it's that much more special.
