September 22, 201015 yr he does not look or sound fuck all like Paddy Considine! Have you seen 'In America'? Paddy is in that, belting film! Edited September 22, 201015 yr by Totty
September 22, 201015 yr Its not Paddy Considine. It's this fella - http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0364890/ Thats even worse!!! He;s younger!!
September 22, 201015 yr Both Meadows & Considine used to be in the Leisure Society. If you like a bit of folk. http://www.myspace.com/theleisuresociety check Spotify for more variety & their cover of Cars.
September 23, 201015 yr Who is the creepy dad?? as he looks familiar, what else he been in?? I thought it was Mr Baxter off Grange Hill.
September 23, 201015 yr in case you've not seen it, A Room For Romeo Brass is a good film, directed by Shane Meadows - it's got a young Milky in the lead role, playing his sister and Paddy Considine playing a nut job who is probably more unhinged than the dad in This Is England: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ai0uaNb8pQo
September 23, 201015 yr How the fuck can ever be Milky's sister? Must be up there with the worst casting.
September 23, 201015 yr I thought it was Mr Baxter off Grange Hill. i saw him in something t'other day think it may have been wolfman
September 29, 201015 yr Found the last episode a bit dissappointing personally. Brought in too many new directions without clearing the other ones up. Apart from clobbering her Dad on the head with an hammer, was cheering at that bit.
September 29, 201015 yr I guess Combo coming back, his mum dead, f-all going for him, it made sense that he took responsibility for the manslaughter - so can understand why he was brought back into it. The idea of Woody trying to re-arrange the wedding was totally pointless and played no part in the episode. I think the whole series hit home how some of us really do not realise how poor our own country is and what shit-holes some folk have to live in.
September 29, 201015 yr I know she's ugly but a face that could shut public transport? http://news.bbc.co.uk/local/london/hi/
September 30, 201015 yr Smells head is at least twice as big as that! Edited September 30, 201015 yr by boothybwfc
September 30, 201015 yr why is she posing with a recently exhumed corpse in boothys pic? i watched it all on 4od yesterday afternoon and was a bit fucked up at the end. Never trust a man with a beard... full blown nonce! I agree with a few comments on here, not much went on in the episodes and there were a few pointless storylines probably just to get each actor in to each episode. The bit where shaun at the end was nailing smell int toilets knocked me more sick than the rape scenes! If i wanted to see idiot sex id have asked for it!
October 1, 201015 yr Watched the last two episodes because of the hype. The rape scenes ruined it for me, why on earth show anything like that

October 1, 201015 yr It was a shocking scene, but this is my gripe with the mini-series. Where did the story come from? Probably about 15-20 minutes of the 4 hours was about her Dad being a paedo/rapist, yet it defined the whole series in the end. What relation did it have to being English and living in England in 1986? There was nothing about this in the film either, given the characters where somewhat younger then. It was nice of him to explore the other characters within the story but a lot of the narrative was really touch and go, and at points absolutely pointless. He started a story and either didn't finish it or massively rushed it. Still it was an ok watch but underwhelming IMO. p.s., if you found that scene shocking, I take it you have never scene Deliverance or Irreversible?
October 1, 201015 yr Because somebody got raped? What did you expect? Jesus man, it's not like it showed it going in or anything. Spot on.. I thought it was a feckin brilliant series, the comedy of the first two episodes increased the sense of how bad things were in the final two episodes. The actor who played Mick, made it for me because he was seriously scary, and the scene with him and was as good as you will get on TV for me. The way she was pacing around in the lounge shiting herself but also pushing him to the limit was dificult to watch, as were the rape scenes, but isn't that what you want drama to do?? Also, I doubt I was the only one whose stomach sank when they gave the warning about sexual violence after the last set of adverts in the final episode?? For me this was the best thing on TV since the Red Riding series.

October 1, 201015 yr I've recorded the entire series on V+, I was considering watching it all over the weekend, is it worth watching, or should I delete?
October 1, 201015 yr I've recorded the entire series on V+, I was considering watching it all over the weekend, is it worth watching, or should I delete? Oh it's worth it, just don't have high expectations. It's mostly about the character's and a few funny one liners, possibly missing on the point of the whole "This Is England" concept. Loose references to mods and a couple of scenes about the WC86. It would probably be more fitting to call it Shameless '86.
Either I'm too young or that was utter shite...
