Petrov has barely looked interested all season.

Robinson was hopelessly out of position when the ball was played forward and then seemed to think standing within four yards of the player in possession constituted tight marking.

To say Jussi should be coming for balls whipped in from the corner of the box is horseshit.

Matty didn't look to track his man properly, but anyone who can say for certain that Chungy would have done it better has been watching a different player than I have.

I'm with you on Jussi - there's a queue of 4 or 5 players who were more at fault for that goal - their lad cut back onto his left and put it in from a good 15 yards from the touchline...if he'd have beaten Robinson and crossed from the byline and the lad scored with a header from inside the 6 yard box, then Mounts would have a point...but that's a very different angle.

Re your point on Taylor - whether Chungy would have tracked him better or not is both hypothetical and impossible to answer so let's not go there...what is certain however, is that Taylor didn't do his job properly

Went yesterday as I won the tickets from Happy's competition.

Took my lad down (only his ever 3rd away match) and although the 1st half was awful, we both enjoyed the game and even got on't telly!

Went to Burnley and now this one. Given me the bug back for away matches.

Thanks to Happy, Wandererways and 188BET for the tickets - certainly worth entering. If you've not entered before, get on it next time.

Can you explain why Jussi should not come for a cross in the 6 yard box? I have played football all my life and the best keepers command there box, is not commanding your box now in the new coaching manuals? if it is, it should go in the bin with zonal marking.

There are blokes on the telly every week who have played football all their lives, too, but they still talk bollocks a lot of the time. ;)

Jules has explained it well enough further up.

You have not explained it well enough for me, when a 5foot 6 winger has the freedom of the box to plant a header unchallenged past a 6 foot 4 inch goalkeeper in the box, it does not take a rocket scientist to think something is wrong with the goalkeeping.

It had something to do with the trajectory & velocity of the cross, the angle and speed of deflection when he headed the ball, therefore maybe it does.

Codswallop, it had everything to do with Jussi being rooted to his line, no excuse.

The ball came in left footed, fast and low from the right, roughly in line with the 18 yard line. Morrison met it around 7 yards out, roughly in the middle of the goal.

So for Jussi to have done anything about it, he'd have had to judge the speed of the ball, the height it would arrive at and the likely point Morrison would meet it (bearing in mind Morrison would have been around 25 yards from goal as Obi-Wan Kenobi shaped to cross it).

Given all those variables, and since Jussi isn't Charles Woodson, the risk that he would be left in no-man's land by Morrison running across him, or that he would get caught out coming ten yards from his line to intercept, was very high.

A safer bet, then, that he stays put and relies on the defenders in front of him to do their jobs properly.

It was a bad goal, but it wasn't down to the keeper.

thought it was more Matt Taylor letting him go

Jussi can't come for every cross

Jussi can't come for every cross

And if he did, someone would crucify him for it

And if he did, someone would crucify him on it

Robinsons fault for me. Let the man just cross it in, he shuld of taken him down before he got in the box as they were breaking and we were struggling to get back. Somebody should of taken Nani down last week too, weve lost the knack of taking one for the team unfortunatley.

Why can Morrison judge where the ball was going yet Jussi could not? I am not saying Jussi was wholly to blame but he takes a big share and should have come for it even if it just put doubt in Morrisons mind.

If you're asking questions like that, then you're struggling

Really struggling

I must admit, the thought had crossed my mind too. If the scorer managed to get himself set right where the ball was dropping why couldn't a keeper who also has the advantage of the length of his arms so is, in fact, able to be 12" or so out in his judgement and still manage to get his hands in the way.

The run was speculative though. If Jussi started speculating like most seem to want he'd look a right twat.

Say he came for the cross assuming Morrison heads it. Then someone closer to the near post gets to it first - the cross had a flat trajectory.

Jussi gets easily beaten at his near post and the "doesnt command his area" brigade start circling.

He's got too many variables to consider in a split second - defenders, forwards, ball. Defenders have to deal with the cross unless its down Jussi's throat.
