Taylor should have come on for Petrov who didn't look interested today. Mark Davies should have started in place of Muamba and not as a replacement for a striker.

 

Finally who has a policeman's helmet. One of the police motorcyclists who was going to escort the coaches to the motorway left his helmet on a wall when he went to sort out a lorry in front of the coaches. When he came back the helmet was missing. He came on the coach and said whoever has it if they just give it back he would say no more about it. Nobody on the coach had it. When we drove away he was looking in bushes for it.

Again a clear chance to go 2 goals up and we are left to rue the miss.

 

Problem with a game like this is that you know all there players will work hard, so

you have to match them.

 

Petrov and Chungy were way short of what is expected.

Knight, who for me has been excellent this season, was nervous and all over the place.

He seems to be over awed when playing with Cahill.

 

They played on Steinsson all game and his awareness and ease of being beat was terrible.

Their winger must have got 8 crosses in, in the first half and numerous in the second.

A number of crosses that came in from the other wing, also left a lot to be desired as

Steino had no perception of an attacker ghosting in on the blin d side.

 

Second half could have gone either way, but that was a game that really we should have won.

Back from T'Hawthorns

I thought Muamba was back to his best,breaking up West Brom's play,winning tackle after tackle & using the ball sensibly,

Mark Davies was very good again when he came on,

& MOM for me was Cahill who justified his recall & looked a top class defender.

 

Petrov was disappointing again & missed the big chance to wrap the game up.Unless Lee was injured, it was a strange decision to take Lee off for Taylor,rather than taking Petrov off.

 

I'd have taken a point this morning, but West Brom were nothing special & this feels like two points dropped.

 

Great atmosphere in our end though, well done to all who went.

 

Not sure it was a great atmosphere, there were more stewards than fans in our end, and some of the chants I was hearing were retarded! However, the volume when we scored went through the roof though, was impressed with that, but then I saw the crowd on MOTD and it looked worse than I remembered.

not impressed, we should be beating teams like west brom especially after going a goal up. Get Al Habsi back as we just cant keep a clean sheet with our current keepers

some of our chants are pathetic, im never singing USA. and the one about our current midfield made me die a little inside.

I know he should have just played on rather than stick his hand up for offside, but Knight really did have a point. The player who got the ball was beyond Knight but I think the Linesman thought the other WBA chap was going for the ball.

I think that's one of the reasons Muamba's been less effective this season; he's great at positioning and mopping up / breaking up play in the middle - we're spreading him too thin as he tracks across when our wide men are beaten or don't track their men...

Have to agree, I thought the widemen didn't track back yesterday leaving the full backs exposed time and again, Petrov was guilty of this all match..

Shame your opinion is based on 5 minutes from match of the day, however your right about the goal coming from the left where Petrov must share the blame, and again have to agree with the goalkeeping comment, Jussi should be plucking that ball out of the air fo fun inside his six yard box, to let a winger win a header there is fooking scandalous, it is Jussi's massive achilles tendon and so so frustrating.

Yep I agree with that buddy. Our full backs are not the best in the division but Petrov mostly and to a lesser degree Lee dont take care of the full back

Can you explain why Jussi should not come for a cross in the 6 yard box? I have played football all my life and the best keepers command there box, is not commanding your box now in the new coaching manuals? if it is, it should go in the bin with zonal marking.

theres about 8 folk who can take some blame for the goal, but it should have been game over well before then but petrov fluffed his lines
