    He's a cunt.

  • We started well and should have finished some of our chances. We got into some good areas early on but the final ball was usually poor. The defence was a shambles throughout the game, as was the non

  • ricketts was exposed cos they went 2 on 1 as lee doesn't work like taylor   once taylor went off they started working the other flank

Nice one Traf :good:

FWIW I thought that we were in control for the first 20 mins or so - until 5-10 mins before they scored.

However, I worry that we have started to believe our own hype a little bit; from that point until the last 20 minutes there was very little movement off the ball and the players appeared to be watching each other waiting for something special to happen - with a passing game, off the ball movement is soooo important - as shown by our 2nd goal in particular.

I was very impressed with Blackpool for spells, their passing and movement for most of the game was superior to ours and they should arguably have been 4-0 up, although I'm not convinced about their defensive capabilities. If Homer thought Adam did little, then i was watching a different match, he was the best player ont he pitch for me.

M Davies did well in spells, he is a lovely footballer with exquisite balance but I have to say we did seem to miss Holden dearly. It must be difficult without much 1st team action, but he's great to have as an option....I'd like to see him on the right and CYL rested on Saturday at City.

K Davies was rather poor - tried the difficult stuff too often for me and I also thought Cahill looked off the pace and was badly positioned far too many times - he's far from the finished article.

They did pick on Ricketts as per previous posts, but with Lee pushing on so much he was isolated and every fullback hates that.

I thought Taylor did OK, but again, those saying he was our best player saw a different game to me.

Fair play once again to OC for the gamble and long may it continue, but I do fear we will get tonked soon...

Aye, folk seem to be criticising Ricketts for being our busiest player. I thought he did alright considering he was put under so much pressure. Blackpool didn't get behind us too often down that side and I don't remember Varney bombarding us with crosses.

They killed us with the extra man in midfield, with Muamba and Davies affording the centre backs very little protection. Campbell had Cahill and Knight spinning at one stage and he would have buried us but for some good goalkeeping.

If we play two against City's three (and Tevez) in there on Saturday I'd fully expect us to get a good hiding.

vaughan was the better of the two imo. adam kept giving the ball away and i thought passing was his key attribute.

but to be fair, they both took the piss out of davies and muamba's defensive capabilities.

the number of times they were attacking our back four without davies and muamba in sight was frightening.

Sections of the crowd started murmuring about Robinson when he was running around in circles looking for a decent pass rather than just hoofing it up to their keeper.

saturdays game was our best ever passing performance with 414 passes, 282 completed. our average is about 300 total passes, 3rd worst in the league (behind blackburn and stoke)

blackpool passed it more and better, with 450 passes with 320 completed.

I'd suggest more than a good few of those murmurs were directed at the players who were standing about watching Robbo run around in said circles.

very true.

adams pass completion was 65%, which is way down on his average.

He pulled the strings very well IMO. An opinion shared by everyone I know that went to the game

You can have 100% pass completion and go nowhere whithout dominating the game too - those stats don't speak for the effectiveness of the passes.

TBF though I'd have thought Adam's percentage was larger

people do speak highly of him.

but i think thats largely down he him being the only player they know and he's the only player that gets highlighted in the media for whatever reason.

kinda like opposition fans seeing nolan when at bolton, and cahill at everton.

id be intrested to see what blackpool fans thought of adam in comparison to the rest of the team.

from what you read/see in the media, blackpool are a one man team! i think we learned on saturday, they are far from that.

Im sure Blackpool fans think he is top draw, I know one that said Seamus Coleman is the best footballer he has ever seen play for Blackpool !!!!!!!

Spot on.

For several seasons Julian Darby merely passed the ball 2 yards sideways to Steve Thompson. Darby's completion rate must have been in the high 90's.

David Vaughn; best player on the pitch imo
