What's his completion this season? I wonder what his stats were for Saturday, where he had an absolute shocker.

Every fucker and his dog on here comes out with the 'stats dont mean everything' slant when it suits.

25 attempted

15 competed

10 shit uns. (inc 1 REALLY bad one)

Whatever the views about his "limitations", we need Muamba in the side. To do the ugly stuff, and to give us a bit of steel. No doubt that Holden and Davies are better "footballers" but they've looked lightweight at times playing together. The stats speak for themselves - he can pass, he can tackle - he's the latest fecking scapegoat. And he's often playing in a two against a three, with little help from our wide men. With some players you can't see what they bring until they're not in the side. It's an absolute love-in from here for Robinson, but I don't think there's one fan can't see that man's limitations...

Agree with the poster above, we need Muamba, he is a very good midfield player, he cuts out opposition and is prepared to get stuck in, any team needs a player like that.

Agreed.

If he was the finished article he wouldn't be at "little old Bolton" ffs.The lad needs to be cut some slack.

I have been saying this since he left and may sound like a broken record..but we still miss a Campo Figure

abit odd, wins the ball and his passing wasn't all that bad..plus he knew when to slow the game down..where i don't think muamba has learnt that yet

but we still miss a Campo Figure

Especially away from home to kill the game.

I remember one virtuoso performnce at Portsmouth in the season when we won 7 or 8 away from home.

campo as one of a two man central midfield?

i think not

Agree with all that except that last sentence. We all know Robbo isn't international quality but he makes up for his shortcomings with heart and determination. Type of player every team needs. Great bloke and I am happy to see his name on the teamsheet.

Muamba can be frustrating at times but he is a great ballwinner. We just need him to find a white shirt more once he's won it and he'd be irreplaceable.

I find it really hard to figure him out. One game he can look like a star in the making, the next, leave you wonder why you ever believeed that. He looks full of so much promise, if only he can gain some composure on the ball. I really believed with time that would improve and he would be a class act, however I have my doubts now. He is top class at getting his foot in and disrupting play, winning the ball back. Howvever, in his time here his distribution has not improved. If he can sort that part of his game out, fast, he should be replacing the likes of Barry in the England squad.

Decent player, good ball winner, has work to do on the ball, but it is in an area he should be able to improve and become a regular for years to come.

Looks good in a 3 but poor in a 2.

Can't remember seeing him in a 3, please remind me

Muamba's downfall comes when he has the ball at his feet and he needs to do something with it.

Tackles, blocks, interceptions, man-marking, tracking etc etc - he is amongst the best in the Premiership

Think my post was slightly ambiguous Bolty - I have no truck with Robbo and concur on what youre saying. I was merely advocating some consistency in our evaluation of players. :good:

Muamba can play in a midfield 2 - If Campo was asked to do the same he'd look worse - mahoosive fact with a cherry on top

OC doesn't seem to like anything other than 4-4-2

We've just lost our other first choice centre midfielder

So, let me get this right, folk are asking for Muamba to be dropped?

Give me fucking strength....

First goal at Birmingham came from Muamba winning possession and feeding Klasnic to flick it through for Elmander to score.

He will be absolutely vital to the end of the season now we have lost Holden.

He has shortcomings but so do most of our players.

To quote OC "Our strength is in the group".

No - given our lack of cental midfielder, so obviously I'm not asking for him to be dropped, so you don't need any strength.

What I'm saying is, if I was looking at areas where we could make improvements the squad, then finding a replacement or at least competition for Muamba would be high on my list of priorities.

We're 7th at the moment, and looking above us, I can't see a team in which Muamba would get a game unless a first teamer was missing. That's the case for a lot of the teams if I start looking below as well.

I'd argue that he's not as good as everybody makes him out to be when it comes to making tackles and intercepting play. He's gets caught in front of the ball too often and leaves big Muamba shaped gaps in our midfield. Once or twice a game, he'll leg it back after somebody in possession and get a tackle in, at which point the people who forget he was out of position in the first place go into rapture and somehow think we've got the next Makelele on our hands.

I really, truly want Muamba to push on and improve. You can never fault his effort or his workrate or his attitude. He does a lot for the club outside of football as well which I think is great, but he's lacking in some footballing fundamentals for me.

hasn't coyle just given him a new deal..maybe he sees something pissed up bloke on the terraces don't

So Stoke pay ?10M for him (they wont buy you started the silly talk :D )

Who do you buy to replace and get us to 6th or better?

It should be easy to fill the gap given how little he offers, I am expecting lots of change from the ?10M.

He plays every game, he is an integral part of the squad, watching him i can see loads about him not like, but given how well we are doing with him, the number of caps at under 21 level got to say 'people who know football' must see soemthign we do nt.

27 league starts

3 as sub

and were 7th and in the semi final of the fa cup.

i think its safe to say muamba is decent enough player for bwfc at this moment in time.

Firstly, I didn't say that replacing Muamba would lead to us finishing 6th or better. We'd be looking at major investment in a number of areas to make that jump.

Still, seen as you've asked. Here are a list of players who I think we'd have a chance of signing at the end of the season, would possibly consider a move to Bolton, and who's parent club might be interested in doing business at ?10,000,000 or less. I also think that these players could do a better job than Muamba over the course of a season.

Nigel Reo Coker

Yossi Benayoun

Zoltan Gera

Tiote

James Morrison

Chris Brunt

Youssof Mulumbu

Cattermole

Hitzlesperger

James McCarthy

Mohamed Diame

Graham Dorrans

Mark Noble

Nenad Milijas

Jamie O'Hara

Bear in mind that these are players from the Premier League only, and I don't have access to an extensive scouting network which I'm sure the club has.

Cue abuse! :D

I think muamba is a great player for the role we need him for, he breaks up play, wins the ball which is his role, it would be great if he did smash home every chance he gets but am sure that his shooting will get better over time.

Dont think he would be in the U21s squad if he was not a good player.

I stopped reading at Benayoun, he's on Chelsea wages, I don't think you've grasped some basic concepts.

Nigel Reo Coker (25 GAMES A SEASON)

Yossi Benayoun (NEVER PLAYS)

Zoltan Gera (25 GAMES A SEASON)

Tiote (6.5 YEAR CONTRACT)

James Morrison (WEST BROM)

Chris Brunt (WEST BROM)

Youssof Mulumbu (WEST BROM)

Cattermole

Hitzlesperger (5 GAMES THIS SEASON?)

James McCarthy

Mohamed Diame (SERIOUSLY ?)..although http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/3369332/Mohamed-Diame-in-blast-at-cold-dull-Wigan.html

Graham Dorrans (WEST BROM)

Mark Noble (SEE DIAME)

Nenad Milijas (40 GAMES IN 2 YEARS)

Jamie O'Hara (100 GAMES IN 6 YEARS)

right cross out players who only make 25 appearances a season then your list is halved, you are looking to replace someone who plays every week..

then the 4 you have decided from west brom who are all better than FM...........apparently...not good enough that there 4 beat our 2....

i reckon cattermole could do a job but doubt he would leave sunderalnd and james mccarthy has potential.

I do agree these clubs would in the main let the players go for ?10M, so i do not disagree with everythign you say. :D
