Clearout Time

Jussi - thanks but time is up

Robinson - back to the lower leagues

Steinsson - back to Icelandic league

Petrov - time to hang those cuntish orange boots up

Cahill - playing with shit players won't help his career - cash in

Elmander - we don't need a non-midfielder or in effective winger, adios

Any more?

This time last week we were world beaters!   Shite performance from everyone yesterday but these shit players have us sat in the upper echelons of the Premier league and we've been there most of th

bit harsh to blame robinson and steinsson. the decision to `rest` robinson for weeks didnt do him any favours and steinsson was no worse than others.

we lost the match as soon as holden got injured, im sure of that. without him we lack teeth.

the decision to start with klasnic up front and elmander in the middle was a big mistake too.

as for petrov, they should send him home now and forward the contents of his locker to him, i`ve seldom seen a poorer performance.

a so called big name player like him should be rising to the occasion for a game like that. he looked like a rabbit caught in headlights. shocking, shocking, shocking.

had mark davies started then we would have had a better chance. he was the only player who actually got the ball and ran with it at any time.

how do you explain that result to your 8 yr old lad? gutted!

edit to agree:- cahill was a big disappointment, you expect your big players to rise up and lead from the front. no sign of that from our so called `star players`

I told my lad who is 6 that Owen Coyle picked the wrong team/formation and he understood and took it in his stride, also told him you cannot win everything.

How is Sean Davis getting on? Have his legs been amputated yet? I rated him.

I suspect when he comes back "getting Sean back is like signing a new player"

A wholesale clearout won't work: ask Mr S. Lee, c/o Anfield.

West ham may be shit but were still sat in 8th.

Robbo's gas been our most reliable player all season until yesterdays utter mare.

Elmander is our leading goal scorer and only a complete moron let's their top scorer leave on a free.

I can't see Jussi being dropped, although Ali would be an outstanding replacement, as I think they see Bogdan as Jussi's successor and he's not quite ready yet.

Cahill will go and I hope garty gets as much as he van for him.

Petrov has been a massive let down all season.

Steinsson has plenty of Passion but little skill so I wouldn't be too sad to see him replaced.

Agree with a lot of this. Not a big robinson fan as well documented but hes certainly been alot better this season (still think hes vulnerable against out and out wingers, and ideally i wouldnt mind a better left back) but for holdens been our most consistant player, granted hes been injured a fair bit.

I certainly wouldnt be selling al habsi, jaaskelainens age is getting on now. Id get al habsi back as number one for next season.

Petrov - gash. And i'll hold my hands up i said id gamble on him for free this time last year.

Steinsson - wouldnt be sad to see him go at all

As always though its alright proposing a clear out but it all depends what budgets we'd have for replacements and who'd theyd be etc

It is a very hard decision but i think it will be for the best. Weve seemed to get overrun in midfield a few games but have seemed to come out on top still somehow :pardon: I feel we wont always be so lucky. If we do stick with 4-4-2 we need some more strength in centre midfield and a left winger with a bit more quality for certain.

4 4 2 some games, 4 5 1 others. Depends on the opposition etc. Aside from the cup run our record away from the reebok isnt too clever. Id try and play more defensive away from home, one up top. Wouldnt change the 4 4 2 at home (aside from against chelsea were we seem get smashed), great home record this season, id settle for the points total we'll finish the season on at home every year

Jussi - thanks but time is up

I'd be looking to clear out the sh?t that are not likely to play for us that much, as oposed to the ones that are and have been all season

why get rid of Robinson when we'd be better off getting rid of JLS and keeping him as back up for Alonso (not my idea, Coyle was the one who signed him, though I do think he'll get better)

same for Steinnson - great back up for Ricketts

Cahill and Elmander - hardly a clearout, I think they'll have the last word as to whether they leave or not

someone else in this thread said Klasnic as well, again, not a bright idea given we're more than likely to be without Sturridge and Elmander!

and have not much to spend either

i agree zico.

get rid of the real shit, not the 1st team shit.

1st team shit become backup and have to fight for their place with the new shit we sign for tuppence.

Take Robinson and Klasnic out of that team and it was the same group of players that ran riot against West Ham.

On paper and by current form, Robinson deserved to be back in ahead of Alonso.

Sturridge was cup-tied, so Owen opted to replace him with Klasnic and stick with Elmander in midfield again.

Jussi has been making errors all season. Zat Knight did a decent job against WHU last weekend.

We just got dicked by a better team more up for it and made sillly silly costly errors.

this team - which is now shit - has finished top 10 and is good enough to have beaten stoke - it must be good enough otherwise there wouldn't be teeth gnashing all over the place

so let's get shut of em all

coyle is naive cos he plays 4-4-2

i'd not play 4-4-2 either, but we've finished top 10 doing it

theres loads of hype that i dislike around coyle, but his record this season (in terms of position, not the football, cos i'm not convinced) suggests we should all just chill out and trust that things will get even better

Righto

For once I kinda agree with that Blue shellsuited scouse fan Pablo.

We haven't become a bad team overnight, we had one motherfucker of a disastrous performance in our most important game for a decade.

As for the players...

Jussi. Shite on Sunday and hasn't had his best season but compared to some of the flappers in the Premier he is still up there. Al Habsi or Bogdan will take over sooner rather than later though jussi will still get his turn

Bogdan. The future No 1 (ok he is already No 1) who will be our long term replacement for Jaaskelainen

Al Habsi. I'm not sure he will come back. Though if he does is a very capable keeper

Steinsson. Can still do a job and don't forget how he had Gareth Bale in his pocket when we thumped Spurs at The Reebok. He had a mare at Wembley though

Robinson. I'm afraid I think his time is up. He is all heart but so would I be if I played for Wanderers. Terrible, terrible error for Etheringtons opener on Sunday.

Cahill . Too good for our team, he will move on in the summer for decent cash hopefully

Alonso. Doesn't look good enough but is highly thought of by the management

Knight. Had a poor final but has overall had a good season. One to build the team around

Wheater. A decent replacement for Cahill. Done not a lot wrong and unfortunate to lose his place in the team

Ricketts. Decent enough pro who will become a regular

Gardner. Deserves a chance in the squad for the remaining 5 games after his loan spell at Preston where he was seemingly their best player, not that that's hard

Petrov. I'll drive him to the airport myself if we can get an offer for him

Holden. The future of our team. built the squad around him

Muamba. Young and works hard and probably our best player on Sunday. He should stay.

M Davies. He and Holden are the future of our midfield. classy and if fit would have played on Sunday (from the mouth of Sandy Stewart)

Cohen. Squad player at best

Taylor. Is a decent free kick technique enough to warrant a place in the team? He does little else for me. He can't beat a man and hasn't won a tackle since he has been at the club.

S Davis. Get rid now, he has been injured since the minute he joined the club, a wage to be freed up for someone more reliable

C Y Lee another to build the team around

K Davies. Similar to Jaaskelainen he is nearing the end though he is unmanageable for defenders when on form

Elmander. Owes us big time but looks like he will move on without fulfilling his potential. Not a midfielder as long as I have a hole in my arse

Klasnic. Good finisher and will probably get another season but is too fuckin inconsistent in my opinion

Sturridge. World class and is too good to move here permanently.

Rodrigo. Sandy Stewart said the boy is World class in training so give him time and let's hope we can get him in for next season

Blake. Time to go

So it isn't all doom and gloom in my opinion, but there is deadwood there who should be punted at the end of the season

If we can keep Rodrigo next season he could potentially be the striker we need in the ilk of sturridge who will be heading back to Chelsea
