Ricketts is a far better right back than Steinsson and so that will be sorted next season.......Robinson is just not good enough even though he has a bit of heart. He is responsible for far too much defensive pressure.

Robinson was responsible for giving the ball away for the first goal. He wasn`t responsible for the instant shot that flew right back and in to the bottom corner. On another day that shot would have ballooned 30 yards over the bar.

He wasn`t at fault for the other goals. How can he be partly at fault as commented by someone else? He`s been tremendous this season, better than I imagined he was capable of but with hindsight, leaving him to kick his heels for weeks on ened because he was one yellow off suspension was a mistake.

As for Steinsson. Mugson was also of the opinion that he wasn`t good enough and that was a contributing factor to our collapse towards the end of his reign. We immediately improved defensively when OC put him back in the line up. Hard to single him out yesterday above others IMHO

the truth is coyle is a good manager and if we cash in on cahill and let him use that money to build his squad am sure he will bring us success, we have had a great season with a fading squad, imagine what we could do if coyle gets the chance to build his own squad.

Hate to say, but yesterday revealed his tactical naivety in all its glory. You know that you are going to get a battle from Stoke, but we only had one man, Muamba, in midfield who has any defensive ability. Instead of our normal 2 against 3 in central midfield, we had 1 against 3.

Every 2nd ball they got in attack they won because we had no-one protecting the back 4.

I didn't think the effort was that bad, but we had been dealt 10 high before we got out on the field.

I hope that we don't end up with a load of Petrovs if he has money.

The positive is that he has brought the club and the fans together and that is his achievement.

Robinson has been outstanding for us this season - and I bet he's being paid peanuts compared to some of the others. We need a better left back for sure, but it's hard to slag him off for his efforts this season.

However, Petrov...well...

i dont think u can say that, mark davies prob would have started but he aint played a game since birmingham a month ago, Who else could he play we have no depth in that area, holdon has been amazing this year an whoever u put in his place would not have played well, to me he picked the best team availible to start the game, but the players let him down, there was no passion they were just not as up for it as stoke.

This time last week we were world beaters!

Yes there is room for improvement but no where near the colossal clear out proposed above.

bad day at the office, thought muamba was our best player till he got hooked.kept going even though he was on his own, felt sorry for him.anyone notice petrov track back like a mad man after he fecked up for the third goal.hilarious. sooner he fecks off the better.jussi has had an ordinary season but didnt think he was at fault for either of the first 2 goals.if you give decent players time and space to shoot thats what happens.only thing that cheered me up was seeing a few arsenal fans on the tube look more suicidal than we were.

Paul Robinson has probably been our best player this season, or thereabouts anyway.

It'd be harsh to get rid after one disastrous game.

As for the Bulgarian for Fuck Off: the word is "Petrov"

So forget the fact that were eight in the league and we reached the semi final of the FA Cup, after yesterdays dire performance over half the team have to go.Why didn't you post that after the West Ham is your reasoned judgement just based on one game.

West Ham are a squad of shit players plus Scott Parker, Daniel Sturridge played them basically on his own. Petrov put in one great cross, possibly his first of the season, he's been shit otherwise. Feel free to make a case for keeping any one of those players though.

I would imagine the problem with Petrov is that he will be earning a decent wage having signed on a free, for him to move on, somebody would have to match or beat what he's getting paid now, I'm not sure that will happen on recent form

West ham may be shit but were still sat in 8th.

Robbo's gas been our most reliable player all season until yesterdays utter mare.

Elmander is our leading goal scorer and only a complete moron let's their top scorer leave on a free.

I can't see Jussi being dropped, although Ali would be an outstanding replacement, as I think they see Bogdan as Jussi's successor and he's not quite ready yet.

Cahill will go and I hope garty gets as much as he van for him.

Petrov has been a massive let down all season.

Steinsson has plenty of Passion but little skill so I wouldn't be too sad to see him replaced.

We are 8th mainly due to Elmander's purple patch and Daniel Sturridge. We are 10 points from Europe and 10 from relegation - mid-table. We can't stop Elmander leaving, he's out of contract...

in my opinion..yesterday showed our lack of depth in our squad

playing elmander in centre mid against a poor westham side yeah im all for it if he has time and space in the middle of the park to make runs at the defenders and fancy passing..but playing him him the middle against a physical stoke side who play with pretty much 2dmf's is never going to work

yesterday when we got in stoke half there was just no one to pass to

Big kev can do it if he is paired with someone like decent that can do abit of running and abit of graft like sturridge has been doing but up there with klasnic he has no chance..klasnic is slow and pretty shit with the ball unless he is in the box

new midfielders

new strikers

JLloyd, Cohen, O'Brien and Sean Davis will all go as well.

I agree with all of those named above (except maybe Steinsson).

I would add that Matt Taylor is not a Coyle player at all - no pace, not very skilfull, too one-footed.

I would keep Robinson & Steinsson as they wont be on much and we need some squad back up even if they are average.

Jussi will be on a shitload and he seems to be getting slower to the ball game by game so maybe its time to give Bogdan or Al Habsi a chance.

Petrov can fucking die for all i care, i hate the cunt with a passion. He is shit and he doesnt even care.

Cahill will be off anyway no need to even discuss it.

Im 50-50 on Elmander, he will be on a lot but is it worth resigning him or is there somebody better we could get for the money?

We need to consider changing our formation imo, midfield at this level is a minefield and everybody usually has 3 in there against our 2 and thats where we struggle especially when we have injuries in centre midfield.

i'm with you, but we've struggled to top 10 in the league and an fa cup semi final

coyle will argue - correctly - that 442 got us there

It is a very hard decision but i think it will be for the best. Weve seemed to get overrun in midfield a few games but have seemed to come out on top still somehow :pardon: I feel we wont always be so lucky. If we do stick with 4-4-2 we need some more strength in centre midfield and a left winger with a bit more quality for certain.

Agree with that

We've said all season that 4-4-2 would eventually catch up with us if we're utilising out and out "wingers" rather than midfielders - I remember saying it on here particularly after we won at West Ham away.

Add a striker playing centre mid and you will be over-run by most Prem teams.

OC has to take much of the responsibility for Sunday, but the players really didn't help him

Elmander is our leading goal scorer and only a complete moron let's their top scorer leave on a free.

Or, he's out of contract in the summer & can walk away for free.

Agree with all them; get rid of our always injuried trio; Gardner (albeit sad for him to go) JOB and cant remember his name because he has always been injured (Sean Davis).

Its also time for Tamir Cohen, Klasnic, Robbie Blake and Matty Taylor to move on as well

God that doesn't leave us with many left -

We do need a lot of new blood in the club and although some of the above have been great servants and done well in their time with us it is time to move on.

Steinsson should have paid to get in he watched so much of the game. They targetted our left but Jones and Walters totally unmarked at the far post - all his fault.

Totally agree and it is not just last Sunday; he has no awareness at all

After 1 bad game, you want them out !!

3 months ago, you were winning the league !!

After 1 bad game, you want them out !!

Players like JOB, Samuel, Cohen, Blake, S Davis have hardly played this season.

Elmander's out of contract, so it's up to him if he stays or not.

Cahill will probably leave.

Sturridge & Rodrigo will go home.

Thats quite a few out and we won't miss most of them. Regardless of where we finish in the league or how good our seasons been we were always going to have a busy summer.

I hope someone reminds Owen about signing young British prospects and not spunking money on sulky aging workshy cunts like Petrov.
