Dunno ..... but if OC thinks he'll not be good enough for the Prem, can we get ?1m or so for him ?

Every little helps.

I presume he's scored, I'd like to see him given a try

I think he may well make it.

Another good goal.

Grayson seems impressed, id not be shocked to see him on loan there next season

y'know megson signed him from leeds?

Cracking goal from Bournemouth..

When did Stephen Hendry become manager of Huddersfield ?

btw cracking goal by that Bournemouth lad.

Penalties starting soon

Tremendous

Ward ran his bollocks off tonight. Took his goal well.

Quality pen

before grayson though

think they wanted him last summer when coventry got him

These pitch invasions are getting silly now

Yep, he's not a patch on Robbie Blake.

Would be nice to see a youngster 'make it'. He has to at least be earning a shot with us, couldn't ask much more from him on loan.

Hopefully a couple of others get some experience next season and we can start to see the youngsters deliver for us. Connolly and Eaves probably need to start getting first team experience next season to properly develop. Loans to league one might be the answer there.

I would agree but Tony Mowbray has been watching Connolly several times this season, so looks like Championship for him.

And Eaves was a sub in League One two years ago, surely it'd be a backwards/sideways step if he had to play in League One again?

Done wonders for Ward, mind.

Interesting comparison. Not many rate Robbie B, but he must have some fans. Good for you.

:good:

Yep - The gulf between reserve team football & the premier league must be huge , so the progression of promising , young reserve players should be on to loan spells & first team football in the lower leagues ,rather than straight into our premier league squad.

On that basis ,Danny Ward is probably first in line to step up into our first team squad. After 3 loan spells, we should have an idea if he's going to be good enough -( if not , sell him )- & as a left winger he could be very useful.

I was at the game last night and Ward was the best player on the pitch IMO. He's a right handful, works his socks off and scores quite a few goals. I'd definitely like to see him in and around the 1st team squad next season.

So, we've got a young, promising left winger and Matt Taylor who's an aging winger. Natural progression means young Ward can go out on loan and return to take Matt's shirt in due time (maybe initially as a sub and in cup games). This seems to be the philosophy that Owen promised us. Instead he spunked fuck knows how many millions on Petrov, a player who has no attributes required to play for Bolton, in a position we seem to be well served in, who . Fucking mental, I tell thee. This is why I fear for the future.

Petrov was a great signing especially on a free, just hasn't produced consistently. Our left side is our weak area IMO, Taylor or Petrov just ain't good enough, well Petrov has the ability, but unfortunately he's not performed as we'd like, also doesn't seem to have the right attitude.

Well, he's only 19. He has time to go on loan in the Championship next season. The trouble is, our left wing is terrible. So we really need a new player coming in to be able to have a real impact.

He cant be any worse than Petrov so i wouldnt be worried if he had a few games on the left for us.

What do you mean by "free"? He'll just have taken a fuck off large signing on fee rather than us paying that to another club. Certainly not my definition of free. We'll struggle to get rid due to the high wages he's no doubt on. That's great. Petrov was an Allardyce style gamble.

Back to the point, if Ward isn't in our first team squad next season, Owen might as well put his hands up and admit what he is = Scottish Allardyce.

Which is the bad part of that? Sam did very well for us.

He did, way back when. His style of ugly football dated, that's why he got sacked from Newcastle and Blackburn and is currently sat on his fat arse out of proper work.

I don't have a problem with that, but we were promised free flowing football and young British players. If that's gone out of the window then at least we should be told.
