superkev Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Take a punt and stay at 5 mill. He will surely demand a move if a prem club are in for
DazBob Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Take a punt and stay at 5 mill. Absolutely not! Withdraw the offer with immediate effect, otherwise they might come back and actually accept it.
DC08WFC Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 "Reports re Jerome just paper talk no contact from BW. Absolute rubbish." - Gartisde on twitter.
RUREADY2ROLL Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 "Reports re Jerome just paper talk no contact from BW. Absolute rubbish." - Gartisde on twitter. Lets hope its paper talk because he is gash. Got a big baggies fan painter and decorator doing our house at the moment and he thinks we are crazy for even considering Jerome
SnoopJohnnyJohn Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 "Reports re Jerome just paper talk no contact from BW. Absolute rubbish." - Gartisde on twitter. Apparently, Birmingham have rejected 6 million and still Coyle seems keen... Has he something nobody else has?
jules_darby Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Apparently, Birmingham have rejected 6 million and still Coyle seems keen... Has he something nobody else has? Apparently meaning said by whom?
tylswhite Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Apparently, Birmingham have rejected 6 million and still Coyle seems keen... Has he something nobody else has? What part of Phil Gartside saying "we havent made a bid" dont you understand? Or are you Willie Mckay?
SnoopJohnnyJohn Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 (edited) Apparently meaning said by whom? What part of Phil Gartside saying "we havent made a bid" dont you understand? Or are you Willie Mckay? Yeah because he's world-renown for telling the truth. All I am putting forward is what was listed on BBC's gossip page (I believe it was originated in the Daily Mirror). I'm not saying that I believe that or that I don't understand "we haven't made a bid", I was just forwarding what I'd read... Hence the "apparently", or is that the word YOU didn't understand? Edited June 13, 2011 by SnoopJohnnyJohn
Guest Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 (edited) Fook me sideways. If we were bidding for Jerome why on earth would Gartside tweet to rule it out? He has nothing to gain doing that. The man is not stupid unlike some of the posters on here it seems............ Edited June 13, 2011 by bwfcfan5

The man is not stupid unlike some of the posters on here it seems............ Alright lad, wind your neck back in... We are probably not bidding. My post, which contains my opinions, explained that: 1) According to the newspapers, OC has upped his bid to 6 million. 2) Regardless of the bid situation, Phil Gartside has been known to be a lying bar steward in the past. Whether he would have anything to gain from rubbishing actual events was never even put into question! 3) Are we even sure that IS Phil Gartside on Twitter...? I wouldn't have a clue because I don't use that! Back on subject, I hope we don't bid for him. Not that I don't think he's worth a punt, just not for the amount being banded about. He'd be worth having as a bench-warmer for 1 or 2 million, but that's about it.
Traf Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Papers tell more lies than PG (just!) PG on twatter is really PG.
Guest Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 He might not tell the entire truth when he is interviewed by the media. But that's the game that is football. But there is absolutely nowt for him to gain by making any sort of comment at all on twitter. If there was owt in the speculation he'd just keep quiet. And I suspect he has 'lied' in the media far less than you think he has. He can't answer every question truthfully but he has no need to answer anything on twitter so it's ridiculous to suggest he'd be lying or misleading via that platform. I don't use twitter either, I'm just applying some common sense!

Don't these people like our Head of Recruitment phone round clubs (& agents) to see who is available and what the price might be before we start bidding?
Carlos Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Why? Everyone is available at the right price. Conversely, no one is available unless you stump up the cash.
DazBob Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Don't these people like our Head of Recruitment phone round clubs (& agents) to see who is available Erm, "Head of Recruitment" ??? Wouldn't that be Coyle? Anyway, is that REALLY how you think it works? Do you think Real Madrid's Head of Recruitment rang Man Utd's Head of Releases and was pleasantly surprised to hear that a greasy Portuguese fella was available for ?70m ? You don't really think that do you?
Rembrandt Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 More to the point, and avoiding all the did-he-say-that cr*p, if we'd offered ?5m for Jerome wouldn't Brum have snapped our hand off up to the armpit.
Carlos Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 To be fair, they want ?5m for a manager that took them down and has already resigned.
HomerJay Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 To be fair, they want ?5m for a manager that took them down and has already resigned. read that this morning, nothing short of comical. wankers. although i am suprised anybody want him as manager, never mind bloody villa!
passmosster Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Erm, "Head of Recruitment" ??? Wouldn't that be Coyle? He's called Cliff Roberts FYI.
gonzo Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 read that this morning, nothing short of comical. wankers. although i am suprised anybody want him as manager, never mind bloody villa! quite funny listening to all the moaning villa on adrian durham last night!!....he was doing his usual best at winding them up! surely if enough of backlash took place when rumours of mclaren getting the job were on the surface, then the current show of discontent is enough to sway the villa board against it?
smithills_gent Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 although i am suprised anybody want him as manager, never mind bloody villa! I would prefer McLeish to Martinez. And certainly more than Gartside's picks of Lee and Megson. Winning the League Cup was a great achievement but it ultimately got Birmingham relegated imo.Play the youth team and lose in the 2nd round and they would have stayed up.Birmingham will bounce back though, getting relegated is not as big a disaster as it would be for Wigan or indeed Bolton. That's why they tried to win the League Cup while they were still not safe.
Carlos Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 getting relegated is not as big a disaster as it would be for Wigan or indeed Bolton. What makes you say that? Their owner has been selling stock in Hong Kong to keep them afloat, and that's before they went down. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/mar/03/carson-yeung-mortgage-birmingham-city
Guest Biff Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Now I don't know whether Bolton are in for Jerome or not. It would appear that most on here wouldn't want him to come to Bolton. However that is not our call. All I am saying is that if it does come to pass and Jerome signs for Bolton can the bedsheet brigade not go down the same path as they did with Megson. Give him a chance and support him and not barrack him from his first kick.
