HomerJay Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 coyle isnt good enough for villa (for where villa think they should be) but neither was martinez if they do approach, he will reject anyway.
HR Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Ok, will Coyle come out now and say hes not interested in a public statement? The longer he doesnt the more worried I am.
DazBob Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Ok, will Coyle come out now and say hes not interested in a public statement? The longer he doesnt the more worried I am. If he comes out and says anything about it then is the time to worry. He doesn't need to say anything as there's reason for him to.
Big_Sharps Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 If he comes out and says anything about it then is the time to worry. He doesn't need to say anything as there's reason for him to. Also makes him look like he is playing billy bigtime if he does that when they might not even be interested in him, the bookies have little to link with the Villa job now which is why he is such low odds.
clown Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Wish Whelan was involved with our club. Call him what you like but he knows his job, always has. Doesn't usually fail, think it would be fair to say that he's been a success in most/all the things he's been involved in - and there's a long list. Loves his club, fooball and town. Also speaks a lot of sense about what is right and wrong with the game, the salary cap will come at some point, and with Martinez he said that he could go if he wanted to, that he was a great manager, but that he didn't think he would go this season but would go with his blessing after that. No coincidence whatsoever that Wigan know how to get pies and pre-poured pints into punters' hands and their cash into his tills, without the need for a meal deal or having to explain that you ordered a bitter and not a rollover hotdog.

Zico Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 whelan is a cunt of the highest order one side of my family is Wigan, rubgy not footy, and they would all concur
passmosster Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Whelan certainly knows how to milk a bit of publicity. After all, Martinez wasn't even offered the job just an interview.
MickyD Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 If Coyle came out and stated that he wasn't interested and that we all need to stick together; then I'd be worried he was off to Villa!
tylswhite Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Whelen is a complete and utter cunt. He always manages to kid gullable people into liking him too. I wouldnt piss on that twat if he was on fire.
birch-chorley Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 mark hughes all over it this! im sure the whole martinez thing is smoke and mirrors. My money is on Hughes on July 1st.
Guest Blixa Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 According to tomorrow's Telegraph, Coyle's 'representatives' have indicated Coyle would be interested in discussing the job.

no balls Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Ave you got a delorean No, just google. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/aston-villa/8569466/Mark-Hughes-in-frame-after-Aston-Villa-draw-blank-as-Roberto-Martinez-elects-to-stay-with-Wigan-Athletic.html
Guest Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 It's bollocks. I've heard complete opposite from 2 people that Coyle has been sounded out and said not interested.
athywhite Posted June 11, 2011 Posted June 11, 2011 Well done to Martinez for showing some loyalty in a time when loyalty in football is virtually non existent has gone up in my estimation.
Mr Soft Posted June 11, 2011 Posted June 11, 2011 But he still works for a cunt and piss poor attempt of a football club. As long as he manages them x
Mr Soft Posted June 11, 2011 Posted June 11, 2011 But he still works for a cunt and a piss poor attempt of a football club. No respect from me untill he relegates the bastards
Guest Blixa Posted June 11, 2011 Posted June 11, 2011 'believed to have indicated' what a load of waffle I reckon his agent has indicated he is interested, perhaps because he sees ??? signs. Whether Coyle is actually interested is a different matter. I suspect he knows there are better jobs waiting for him if he has a good season or two with us - and failing at Villa could severely hamper that future.
Casino Posted June 11, 2011 Posted June 11, 2011 villa is a shitty job you just can't see any way they can finish above united, city, chelsea, arsenal and liverpool success is finishing 6th, but they've got this idea they're 'big' well, big clubs don't come from birmingham nor do they have shitty grounds like theirs with us, success is top 10

SalfordOriginal Posted June 11, 2011 Posted June 11, 2011 with us, success is top 10 Success is indeed top 10 but we are always going to be classed as "avoid relegation" bracket. Coyle may see it as not wanting to risk it on his CV. Finishing mid table and having a run at a european place occasionally may look better on his CV in his opinion which is more likely at Villa McClaren or O'Neill for the whites
