Zico Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 I wouldn't have thought that Coyle would meet Villa's criteria. He is not yet a proven Premiership manager. it seems Randy Lerner doesn't have a criteria he certainly doesn't appear to have any recruitment policy/strategy
superjohnmcginlay Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Martinez set to turn the Villa job down, apparantly. Really? Is he on glue?
no balls Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Really? Is he on glue? A boss he knows will back him. You never know, he might think he deserves to give Whelan a season back.
Casino Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 whelan on talkshite earlier he and amigo have meeting tomorrow 1.30 if after that martinez wants to leave he can
superjohnmcginlay Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Heard the interview with Whelan, who was suggesting he could be a top European manager etc etc... It's a cracking opportunity for him if he has a shit season at Wigan he might not get another chance
Guest Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 I think Martinez will turn it down. Heard that Villa have approached many but not had many bites back. Sounds a bit of a mess. Coyle has probably already been approached. Can't see why he'd consider a job where he was 98th choice behind Roberto Martinez. I've heard the way they have treated Mclaren has not gone down well in the managerial circles.
SalfordOriginal Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 whelan on talkshite earlier Listened to the same thing. Its a shame Whelan is Mr Wigan, he's like a adorable little old granddad who talks some sense for a chairman and has some good values left in a industry that is littered with the likes of Glaziers, Lerner, Oysten, Edwards, Abramovich's, Henry's, Mansours & Ashleys to name a few!!

Carlos Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 I'd love him to be outed as a paedo. Or die. Or both.
Ani Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Martinez to Villa. Villa need a keeper. Al Habsi.............?
HomerJay Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 if he gets the job, villa will sack martinez before xmas.
Zico Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 heard Villa lost a lot of respect in managerial circles after the way they treated McClaren so might struggle to entice someone currently working in England wouldn't surprise me if Martinez turned it down - be good to see a bit of loyalty in football, even if it's to them pie eating bastards - he seems like a decent chap
superjohnmcginlay Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 wonder if its through loyalty to the pies or maybe Villa is in a much worse state than we thought
athywhite Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Waiting for next announcement villa ask to speak to coyle that will put cat amongst pigeons.
Piemon Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 I think it's nice, for once. Same here, although he's in line for a bit of a payrise at Wigan now presumably. if ever a mon was in a win win it is/was Martinez
