These Public Sector Strikes

Recommended Posts

Because

1) They knew the pay when they trained to become a teacher.

2) Surely they live in the real world and understand that a 2/3 final salary pension for public sector workers would bankrupt the country.

3) I believe strike action should be supported by at least 50% of the vote of which 50% of the membership must have voted.

4) Even better, fucking ban Unions as they are run by morally corrupt cuntpipes - champagne socialists at their very worst.

True enough - they also knew the pension when they were training.

Lets find the evil bastards who forced them kicking and screaming into that job in the first place, and have them shot like pigs.

Again - fair point, but say you'd agreed a quote for digging up stuff (displaying total lack of knowledge now), do the job, then bloke says 'nah feck that, I ain't paying you that', you'd be a tad pissed off no?

I am not in agreement with this strike, it's bollocks but!!

In general the working man is being dry bummed.

I was earning more in 1997 an hour than I am now and I am now working half as many hours again than I was then. I am expected to work every second, this weekend will be my fourth in a row to make a liveable wage. I have had one day off work in about a month and have had to doctor my timesheet to stop my manager getting in trouble because I've had so little time off.

My basic hours are 25 a week (5 hours a day obviously) but don't get paid overtime rate until I've worked 50 in a week. I can't live on 25 hours a week, nobody could but I am only employed like this because they don't always have a full shift of work for me, though it is VERY rare for me to work my basic 10 til 3 (for the last fortnight I've worked from 6.30am til 6PM) plus they pay me less money when I take holidays, i only get 5 hours pay per day taken. I am on a 6 month rolling contract, so they can get rid of me at any time, i don't get sick pay if I was ever off.

In saying that I love the work I do most of the time, so don't mind doing the hours, it keeps me off the drink and my mind switched on as it is mentally challenging work that I do.

The weekends are mostly shite with manual work on a Household Waste Recycling Centre hauling peoples rubbish about but I get paid overtime rate for it.

Spineless, workshy, ungrateful, pig-thick, socialist, backward, selfish, self-indulgent, thoughtless, out of touch, Scargillite, lazy lazy lazy lazy wankers.

ANYONE who goes on strike (particularly during a recession, regardless of the causes) wants throwing in the sea with a litre of hot Ronseal Deckstain poured up their pathetic arseholes.

If I have a bad month in the evil, capitalist private sector, I may have to put a bit less in my pension pot. Do I then start blaming anyone and everyone except myself? Do I fuck.

If you're going to work in a sector that wraps you up in cotton wool and gives you more holidays and sick days than there actually are in a calender year, don't start fucking whining when the going gets a bit tough outside your wonderful little protective bubble. You know when you take the public sector pay that you are at the behest of that particular machine and I certainly don't hear any of you moaning about the endless time off and soft as shit layers of protection you get.

If you don't like it, get another fucking job where you can control your own future instead of being a spineless self-pitying cuntshite.

Worse than scousers. And I don't say that lightly.

So on the 30th June, most of the country will be at the mercy of people taking yet ANOTHER fucking day off for shit all.

Cunts.

But no pension is completely guaranteed a many people have found out and those wanting the state one will find out in a few years. If there's nothing in the pot, how can they have it?

I know, but it's human nature for folk to be pretty fucked off about it. So I wish em good luck

Home loving types?

Sarah Beeney?

twat :)

seriously though, when I worked at hsbc it was run by all the odd balls who actively went out of their way to push the boundaries as far as they possibly could whilst trying to get everyone else involved.

Theres no Union in my last place and my current employer, it isnt needed. hard workers who care about the job they do is all that is needed.

I kind of agree with Spider but can also see the other side of things. It is fine if you are in a steady job with a decent employer but they aren't all like that. Dodgy employers have you over a barrel now and take the piss with demands that are unreasonable. They know that if the working man doesn't have a leg to stand on now and they can do what they want.

An example is one lad I work with who was a driver, got disciplined for exceeding his company enforced 40 mile an hour speed limit (all vehicles have trackers and there is a little hitler sitting there watching them constantly) on a journey from Barrow to Carlisle. He only just got into Carlisle in time for our site closing time that day and it would have cost the company a fortune to take the load all the way back to Barrow to bring it back the next day. Despite that he got a written warning.

The next week he was in exactly the same position (it was a regular weekly run) and refused to go because of the reasons above and they sacked him.

That's just one example of many

The average working man is fucked, and you know why?

The unions have abused their powers and have lost what they were formed for in the first place! They were there to fight for rights for ordinary working men. Scargill and the fuckin miners fucked themselves and every other normal man up the arse by playing right into Thatchers hands.

If you have a vote and you dont use it, then no good moaning about afterwards

That's fuck all to do with it, the point I made is just under 20% of 750K(?) have voted to strike, it's pointless.

Don't get me wrong, there will invariably be those in the sector who are wincing at this turn of events and are hard working, non-piss taking types. They are getting tarred with the same brush but the fact is there are plenty who will jump at the chance for a day off.

On the 30th June, they will simply make an econmy that is already buckling worse. Shameful.

Yep,

It benefits me because I get more hours but I am supposed to get two consecutive days off in a fortnight. I haven't been but if I juggle my hours to suit I can make it appear that I do. He has been really good to me during my marriage split and is also a good manager to me (though if you get on the wrong side of him he is a cunt) It benefits both of us... I get the extra hours and he gets his work done by someone he can trust it's just not company legal what i/we do
