You play away games at teams at your level you'll every so often get dicked. That's how it works.

But I'm not sure the rest of the argument holds true; the very top Prem sides pay ludicrous wages, but get the very best by doing it, hence there being at aleast two tiers in the top flight. We could say we are good - but can only get to the next level by spending astronomical amounts.

Wednesday on the other hand are (and have been over the past few years) spunking big wages on absolute dross which has got them relegated (something Megson couldn't be expected to resolve at the relative short time he's been there) while Stevenage have over the past few years been assembling a decent team on presumably pretty average wages, hence their promotions.

The relegated team are obviously shit, the recently promoted one half decent....at the level in question. No matter what you paid them Wednesday players, they'd still be shit. You can't polish a turd and all that. And that's the result of years of mismanagement at all levels of the club. They are what they are - a third tier team from whom nothing much can be expected whatever you pay 'em....and as such their fans can't get on their high horse and assume they won't get dicked away to up and coming teams who happen to be ex non-league.
