That was my word of the day to sum it all up.

My word to sum it up would be 'unfair'

I accept there are always going to be better teams in a division but the rich clubs are now so far in front in terms of quality of players to choose from that there is NO competition in playing them anymore.

The Premier League has been completely ruined by all the money that TV companies and foreign rich pricks who like a hobby!!!!

We should just sit in the centre circle everytime we play United, City and Chelsea from now on... and if Liverpool keep spending like they have recently, same with them too! We have just become their playthings to show how great they are!

Talk about bending over and taking it like a good little soldier... We even bring their kids on for them, let them make their mistakes here, before they come back to batter us!

I'm not gonna blame our manager or any of our players when we play the teams in the Champions League cos it's like expecting a cheap car to perform like a mega expensive formula 1 car!

Didn't give 100%? Rubbish! Actually I think they shouldn't even try to give 1% in these games and resume the competitive games when we are playing teams who haven't spent more on 1 players weekly wage than we have on players!

If by a mirable we ever get a player is good enough to compete with em... out lovely media want to write everyday about which one of these elite teams they are joining! What are we supposed to do???

Its just like foxhunting unfair and not sport!

  • maths test to follow?

  • Fucking awful   Every single one of them   Owen coyle needs to take some fucking coaching lessons.   I'm off to get pissed

That was utter dogshit. Jussi needs to quit now and Eagles isn't fit to wear a white shirt. Embarrassing.

incredibly ambitious (naive) team selection and tactics

the game was stretched from the word go , our team was all over the pitch. suits utd down to the ground

Agreed.

This is what teams are now doing thet are cancelling out our strengths, Davies, and exposing our weaknesses, full backs in particular. This was no sudden thing and was something Coyle should have rectified in the summer.

It was a draw last season, have utd really got that much better or has Coyle got it wrong ?

Blackpool competed last year, loads of poorer teams compete. Irrellevent of the difference in class of players.

Currently, we don't and that the fault of one man.

I can handle getting outclassed, but to not even turn up AGAIN is unacceptable IMO

The amount of space manure had to play was criminal.

It wasn't even a quick game, they controlled the whole 90 mins without breaking a sweat!

The lack of desire from our players is enough for to fall out of love with the game.

and them norwegians can fuck right off

Currently, we don't and that the fault of one man.

We got beat 5-0 by Manchester United or 3-1 by Liverpool or 3-2 by MAnchester City because of one man?

Not because they have 11 players sat in the stands who are better, cost more and are on 20x more per week?

If we swapped managers at the start of the season with any of these teams we'd still get beat then?

Errrm no!

They scored eight against Arsenal last week. They've spent over ?50M on three players to add to what they already had. We've spent the money that Eddie Davis found down the back of his sofa. Work it yourself.

Spot on!

I'm just as upset as every other Bolton fan... and I share the same concerns about the same players who are failing... but lets stop all pretending we could do any better with any different tactics against teams that are way superior to anything else in the division.

Is Wenger a bad manager cos they copped it for 8 last week?

Nope he's just not spent the same money!

That was my word of the day to sum it all up.

1st corner against a nervous supposedly weak on crosses goalie, what do we do? Petrov hits a short corner that doesn't test the goalie.

FFS, hang it up under the bar and give him a clattering. Not just the team selection, but the tactics are woeful.

We used to be strong on set plays, but that has gone.

Still, we try to play the beautiful game. Have Bolton ever?

Shit happens.

Let's not get ate up about it people.

There are teams in this division that are world class.

And its not just us who cannot compete.

Arsenal got spanked 8-2.

Tottenham got spanked 5-0 at home.

Utd & City will destroy at lot of teams this season.

On the plus side, I liked the look of Pratley when he came on. And Petrov definitely looks up for it this season.

Spot on Homer

We competed last season but have lost the desire; too many players who dont earn their bacon. For games like QPR, Norwich and Wigan we can pick a team like that and hope to get something out of it but against the quality teams we need 11 work horses.

Yussi is becoming an embarrassment and he just stands motionless on his line; not his fault he should have been retired a year ago and its now time for SKD to step down; Klasnic scores goals but we need someone to put in a shift.

Mark Davies looks good on the ball but runs into trouble and goes missing in midfield; the only place I can see him doing well in this division is infront of the two central midfield linking with a sole striker.

Nigel Reo Coker - not good enough on his own in central midfield

Eagles will be replaced with the Chelsea loanee IMO because he is just too lightweight

Robinson's pace is concerning; again its only against the top teams but yesterday he was responsible for the balls coming across for the three first half goals

Zak Knight retains his place - WHY?

And yesterday our England centre half was awful

Tottenham got a good beating against City then turned it round to beat Wolves - we need to beat Norwich next week

In what way did Blackpool 'compete' last season? They lost every single game to the top four, conceding nine goals to Arsenal, seven to Chelsea, seven to Utd and four to City, in the process.

looks like we are gonna compete for that record, already conceded 3 to city and 5 to the scum

Glad you agree, so they have bought players to improve their team and we haven't.

Ok thanks.

Paid for by the millions and millions of people who pump cash into manyoos coffers through merchandise and sponsorship plus The bear 80k people they get through the gates week in week out.

If the yanks sell the red filth they'll get a billion quid, Eddie will be lucky to get ?50m.

Your such a tosser

We dont have any money - like many others

I reckon games against top 6, we should just forfeit and take 3-0 defeat.

It's not as if we should have a chance anyway.

While were at it, maybe we should give of all our women and children for the 90 mins.

What was thrown at A.Young? a coin?

my first thought was not enough

A brick hopefully

I understand what you're saying Homer and part of me agrees. But I disagree that the team were not giving their all. The gap is widening and this season for the first time ever I will refuse to complain at a defeat to Man City or Man United.

Its never been a level playing field in the Premiership but this season it's effing vertical!

Lots of teams will get the p*ss taken out of them by both Manchester teams this season and their only real challenge will come against the big 2 in Spain!

Any teams that have players that could worry them will have them sold to them in the coming seasons too... ask Villa fans... ask Arsenal fans even!

We were well beaten by a much better team, the same as the City and Liverpool games.

I don't know what Coyle could have done differantly yesterday regarding selection or tactics which would have made a massive differance.

They kept going, people describing the performance as spineless are just wrong. Stoke at Wembley was spineless, yesterday wasn't.

Hear Hear

Well for starters I'd rather have more of our players back to cope with their attackers, then have more of our players forward against their defence, the reason is that with more players back with a formation less positive than a 4-4-2 with little protection for our weak defence, I reckon the space United had would have been decreased.

Some of the balls United put in the box yesterday were right on the money, however their wingers were allowed the freedom to choose their options and have time to pick the right ball, if we had more players back and increased the pressing and decreased the backing off and reluctance to pressurize than I don't think the likes of Evra, Anderson, Carrick and Jones would have the same amount of time and space to pick out A.Young or Nani or the showing Rooney.

With their talents, they can still work it around a team, even if they are faced with a superb organized unit, but all I want is to see us be a little less adventurous against teams who are far better, we can't match, we can't beat them at their own game, it's rare teams go attack against the big boys and be successful, Inter did it in the 1st leg against Barca a couple of years back and won 3-1 at the San Siro, but it doesn't happen often enough, Spurs, Arsenal have both been beaten well by United this season, a out of form Bolton side who play a system that is great for a team like United is asking for trouble.

I think I've mentioned many a time, I'm a massive fan of passing football with loads of skill on show which is my kind of football entertainment, I'd like to see this from Bolton and last season we scored some unreal team goals but atm we are in poor form and we are weaker than last season,4-4-2 is positive and Coyle does have the philosophy I'd like a manager to have, however there are games were one has to make change and realise the likely outcome of a match, the thing to do is to make it has hard as possible for your opponents, not give them more advantage due to to reluctance and always wanting to play a certain way.

Good players play well when they have the ball at feet and have a variety of options and the space to allow this, time and again there is a big whole in behind NRC/Muamba's position and it's extremely hard for players like Knight and Robinson to cope against pace and skill. We needed more protection, we needed to close down more, or if we're going to back off, at least have a system that has more players helping out at the back, so the Anderson's etc can't pick out the danger men with that much ease whic resulted in us conceding goals and getting pissed on by the quality crosses and the movement of Hernandez.

Make it less difficult, squeeze them, pressure them, they may get frustrated and this could give us the opportunity to go and get some points, set-pieces can be conceded by any side, we also have pace in petrov who could counter, I know playing a bit more defensively, limits our attacking potential and goals win games, but we can score from set=pieces and even yesterday we caused a few problems for United, but if we lost the ball, then the gaps and acres of space for United to counter and pass about was far too much, it as to be addressed because even against the lesser teams, they still have professional players who can cause damage when they have ball at feet and space to do what they want.
